New Adoption Book. . .Should have read this one before Fostering

In the past, I have discussed feeling duped by the system when it came to Foster to Adopt.  I still feel a little like that, but more because they did not fully explain it.  That should be part of the process.  I think they want you to believe that any child that comes into your house will be adoptable.  Not even out of the first chapter and the author gave a breakdown of the different forms of adoption.  She explains that foster to adopt lets a parent experience the child that they may be able to adopt, but only after the state has found that reunification with the family will not happen.  I guess it was just like the phone calls we got from placement.  If you don't ask, they will not go into detail.  By all means, if anyone reads this, remember to ask questions while taking foster/adoption classes through your state.  No question is a dumb one.
