Great Wall, Pandas, and Mcdonald's

I just read a story. It looks like if Obesession wants to be recognized for awards, it has to go under musical or comedy. Have you seen this movie. I did not see either. These award companies need to change or add horror/thriller as a catgegory. They should have done this a long time ago. Only that some directors seem to think it is not hard to create horror. I've seen where some of them have tried and failed miserably.

This looks like an interesting movie. It stars Austin Abrams, fresh off of Resident Evil, as a man who gets swallowed by a whail. This is an adaptation of a 2023 Novel by Daniel Kraus. When I said I would do 30 days of movies, I did not say it would just be 30 movies. I have so many I can bring up that I might do a couple. John Schlesinger did a movie called The Believers. I would say it falls under religious Horror. Martin Sheen play a police psychiatrist investigating ritualistic child murders. This was a good movie. I believe it came out in 1987. I will say this is more intense than Marathon Man. The Believers Buy Now

In 1976, Marathon Man was released. It starred Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Olivier, Roy Scheider, and others. This movie is not horror in the usual sense, but there is a really intense scene in it. Dustin Hoffman plays a graduate student who gets involved in his brothers affairs, not by his choice. William Goldman was the screenwriter and it was directed by John Schlesinger. Laurence Olivier plays a sadistic, exiled Nazi war criminal. If you want a well acted thriller, this is your movie. I first saw something from it in Terror in the Aisles. Then I had to track it down. i recently ordered something. No it's lost. They say I can wait for it or ask for a refund. Why would I ask for a refund? I wouldn't have bothered ordering online, if I knew they were going to loose my order. shouldn't they order dome kind of credit and reship the items?

For my first movie, I will introduce a film from the 80's. It is called Terror in the Aisles. It is a documentary about horror films. It had Donald Pleasance and Nancy Allen narrating. They hit on what makes these movies so popular. it also goes into the good and the bad. I found it very interesting. I even tried to watch as many of the films as I could. There are still some I need to find or watch. I looked ans if Amazon had it, it was too expesive. I was able to catch it on YouTube.

Follow up from yesterday. Is this school covering up for the guys? It sounds like someone majorly dropped the ball. The New York Times gathered lots of transcripts from the school. The DA claims he did not get them. These establishments love to stand up for agressors. Maybe it is because they come from money. I am tired of seeing stories like this. Colleges should investigate their fraternities and sororities. Even do surprise checks. I know if they did not exist when I attended college, it would not have bothered me. I even wrote a script like this. It was about a guy and and girl going on a date. He was a fraternity. One only thought about sex and the other about just a date. In the end she woke up and felt violated. You know what, there was a frat bro in the class and took offense to my script.

You will not believe this, but I have not seen this yet. I thought it was already on streaming. When I heard is was 2 all over again, I lost interest. What is up Cameron? You know that sequels only work if they go in different directions. I guess the fire tribe is that direction, but it seems like they strayed back to the water people's territory to repeat the finale. Disney+ is really striking out with me. They have no shows of interest. It is mainly geared towards their tween audience. They have a Marvel show coming up, but for a character I find to be boring. Wandavision was terrible. I found no interest in that show. I do think it is better if they stick with movies for Marvel. Star Wars is not fairing any better. Mediocre shows that don't interest the fans of old. That last one was for who knows what. Maybe the Ryan Murphey audience. It was not Star Wars to me.

Would you do this? Vote for a candidate that has nothing in common with you or your needs? trump thinks people are stupid enough to do that. He only wants people that will keep his interests in mind. Not that of his/her constituents. How will that help your area? They will be too busy voting for ways for him and his corrupt family to skim money into their own pocket. All while you will struggle with higher bills and subpar insurance. If you have no food, don't worry they have taken that away from you. Our first lady is too greedy to even say Give them Cake. I was listening to NPR and they talked to the directors of NAZA. This documentary sounds like something everyone should watch. From what they said, NAZA is a combination of two Hebrew words meaing collateral damage. I bet this movie either gets an Academy Award or the industry backs the Isreali government and excludes it. I really think people should watch this when it comes out. They can't stop people from seeing it and educating themselves. To me this sounds like a war crime. This line comes from a great 70's movie called Marathon Man. I think it should apply to females going to college parties. If my daughters had gone to college, I would have told them to stay away or be ultra careful. Do not accept drinks from anyone. Do not leave your drink unattended. Make sure you have someone with you at all times. Do not go into any strangers room alone with that person. When it comes to these campuses, they don't care to protect females. It seems like the males well being always comes first. I remember trump's first term. His education secretary did her best to weaken protections for females. Maybe her son was accused of r*pe? MGM+ has greenlit a series based on John Sandford's Prey books. If you have not read or listened to them, check them out. Follow the order of releases. They go in order. It's about a detective tracking down a serial killer. The story says brilliant, but what is a brillian serial killer? You really don't find out about them until people start seeing a pattern. I think they put in that word to make people think that it is a killer that kills many people, but taunts authorities at the same time. Most stay quiet. There are some that will do that.

I paid to see Godzilla Minus One when it came to theaters. I did not care that it was in Japanese with subtitles. This just added to this great movie. Now we are getting a sequel. Some are saying it is a great movie. They are not the same "some" trump talks about. I am talking about the website JoBlo.com Godzilla Minus One Review They went all it for this movie. It will be the first to have an R rating for violence. I can not wait to see it! It will probably compete for another Oscar. It has been mentioned that it cost $50 Million, but looks like $100 Million. That is what they did for the first one. Too bad Hollywood has not caught on to cheaper digital effects!

I found a book to listen to. Ron Shelton, the creator and director of Bull Durham, wrote The Church of Baseball. It gives the story of how this great movie was created. I only wish I was older at that time. They shot the film an hour away from my house. Mitch's Tavern was in our city of Raleigh. It was across from NC State. I was still in high school. It has been an interesting listen. Check your local library. I love to watch/read/listen to stories about the behind the scenes of a movie. I think this is the first time actually hearing the writer read his own work. If you have not scene this movie, check it out. It was a great movie.

Sports teams are a joke. You may start a year with a great player and the next day they are traded. Why? Are they saving money, reducing what they pay to bring in a higher dollar player, etc? They run them like businesses. The issue I have is there is nothing to be loyal to. It's all about the ultra rich continuing to lord that over people. Some are total sheep. They raise prices and they will continue to pay it. Even if they are struggling. Do you see these owners caring? Hell no! You see them claim to be poor and force a city to pay for a new stadium. Then they take their money and pay for politicians who keep the status quo! I'm happy to stay away from sports. Your loyalty means nothing. Just look at the San Diego Chargers. They tried the whole I'm poor build my a stadium. San Diego came up with something. But, it fell short and they just moved the team. Now, I a no longer a fan. It did help me realize there is no point to team loyalty.

My daughter discovered Jimmy Buffet this weekend. She had us watching his shows and videos all weekend. She keeps saying she wants to go to a concert. I keep telling her that she is through YouTube. She also wants a shirt. I saw a great one via Temu. It has Cheeseburger in Paradise and mentions Margaritaville. They also had a dress with a parrot and 5 O'clock Somewhere on it. Due to here extreme strumming two strings broke on her guitar. I have to try and replace them. I might also have to order more strings. She loves to play it. I want to encourage her to continue. It gives her something fun to do. She is also experiencing all types of music. If you have a child interested in music, encourage that interest. I am also benifiting. I am learning guitar. It will take time. You can do it.

Disney is raising prices again! They are changing contracts to force commercials on customers. It's just cable. Just like it, they control what you watch. I love having my collection of DVDs. When it is not streaming, I can pull one out. Digital is as bad as streaming. You may purchase something to watch, but they will own it and can take it back from you. They can not do that with physical media. We need to buy the devices. Some companies are producing less of them. I bought a 4k player. You will want one that is backward compatible. I don't know if you saw the news from Cornell. It is disgusting. Check it out. What is the point of these groups? You pay to have friends. You go through pledging which could end in hazing of some form. I went to an open house during college orientation. I was not impressed. They acted like you should join to have access to females at parties. For me it seemed like a waste of money. In this particular case, the school did not really punish the perpatrators. Was it because the parents had money or influence? Was it some male who did not want to hurt these boys futures? As far as I am concerned, if you want to commit adult crimes, you should be processed like a criminal. Sorry if it ruins your future! What about the victim? These idiots never consider them. They tend to victim blame. I think colleges should do away with them. They serve not real purpose.

I bet when trump was younger he was a bully. He picked on anyone he perceived as being weaker than he. He probably went after the disabled with a passion. He's doing it again. He's weakening the protections they have under federal government. He'll claim it's fraud, etc. He may even go so far as to say what he really thinks. My thoughts are that his beliefs line up with Nazi beliefs. I did read that he told a relative that they should put their child to sleep. This guy is evil personified! If people vote for him, they fall under his category of evil.

Avengers is on top again. People paid to see something they can watch at home, minus the Doomsday teasers. Prinetime made a bunch of money. It has fewewr theaters than the Brad Pitt movie.

It looks like the US taxes are paying for love trump videos. Disgusting! Of course, how many politicians will rrmain quiet? I know his ag thinks it is acceptable. He thinks it's a PSA. I see nothing PSA about it. This is something Putin would force stations to play. Next thing you know, the commercials will say to vote republican to save trump!

I saw a recipe to mske brownies out of bansnas, peanut butter, and cocoa. I had the ingrediants and said what the hell. I mixed up. It was good, but very thin and liquidy. I don't know if I will do that again. it is interesting to see what you can make without the usual ingrediants.

What is the point of having super powers if you have to work out and take steroids? I guess those that create them think that a body builder makes a better looking superhero. You look at a lot of them and all you see is a wrestler with a spandex suit. If they really had a super power, they should like unimposing. That would cause others to underestimate them. Also, what message are you sending children? If you bulk up, you can have super powers? I just get tired of them. They should create episodes where said heroes get a super cancer caused by the steroids. That can show a danger of using drugs to bulk up. They could also show the side effects. Two are about to have sex, but due to the steroids, nothing.

So the US has lots of expensive weaponry. It seems that the easiest way to fight against us is to use simple weapons. They can send a cheap drone to bomb something. We lob a million dollar missle. Like we have seen, we have gone through a lot of high dollar weapons to shoot down weapons that cost a few thousand dollars. I think our country needs to think of strategies that are cheaper. We just like to send trillions to weapon companies for an expensive missle. While, they probably could create mini missles cheaper or something that can go after drones. Look at Viet Nam. They used our weapons against us. They also created booby traps out of bamboo and other natural items. We think we can go into poorer areas and instantly take over. I don't think it has been very successful. Who knows? Hegseth wants to give soldiers testosterone. I guess he wants them to impale the enemy with something natural!

That chicken I had to rescue has died. I looked for it last night. It was moving around. I went out today to feed the others. I went down and checked on her. She was dead. I don't know what happened. Maybe a predator got a hold of her and found her to be sick. Probably a hawk. Then it dropped it in our neighbors yard. She would have died over there. She was not moving. It was strange. I just hope it does not go to the others in the flock.

I know the answer is not many. I feel money has really destroyed sports. Soon elementary children will get money to play sports. It is out of hand. These owners have too much money and power. They should not be forcing their beleifs on people, like Kraft has done. The sad thing is, not every player makes money. It's only certain players. I don't know why they put up with it. If my team spent all the money on one or two people and I had to "support" them, I would probably quit. Especially when it comes to football. They are risking their bodies and their minds. They should be paid for that! They should also get lifetime healthcare from the leagues they play in. You know the rich will override that one and call it socialism. Once they stop playing, the money dries up. This is the time that the effects of the sport start to show.

Our kangaroo court has done it again. They are trying to make sure trump can cheat legally. They have approved his scam to look at social security to find noncitizen voter. They say, for now. Gee, why not just have a real hearing and rule on it. This is the same bogus stuff they have done since trump has taken office. I really can't wait to see if our court can regain its respectibility. I really doubt it. There is so much corruption. It goes all the way up to the cheif justice. He's as corrupt as the others. No wonder he and trump get along. A very short teaser was released for Gremlins 3. It didn't really show anything. I think it is more of a reminder that the movie existed. If you have not seen these movies, you need to. The first one is like a Speilberg fim. The second one is satire. Unfortunately, satire goes over most peoples heads. I found it to be a fun movie. I think people hate when a film sequel does not just repeat the first story. If they do, they complain that it was a repeat of the first story. What do people want? I hope it is more than a nostalgia sequel. Chris Columbus is writing and directing. He wrote the first screenplay. Joe Dante will exectutive produce. I hope that they actually work together to put the best movie out. Producer titles do not actually mean that the person actually does anything. For some it is because they provided the money. Starbucks is closing locations. I guess their CEO's plan to take away discounts and keep high prices is not working. I could have told you that. If you drive in a city or town, you will see lots of coffee joints popping up. They are not Starbucks. I knew that would catch up to them. I don't know if they are cheaper, but maybe it is the fact they respect their customers. I knew when the new CEO started raving that the problem was too many discounts cheapening the product, they were in trouble. I guess he needs a bonus, so he is closing locations. Eventually, he will be shown the door. He will get a huge golden parachute. CEO's only fail upward. Crime and neglect are just part of doing business.

I had the unfortunate luck of watching local news yesterday. Our internet was down and local was all we could watch. Every commercial was a political commercial. Most were lies. Moody claims Democrats will take things away from you. I guess she missed where trump is already doing that with the party's blessing. What about the land they are taking away at the border? What about the land they are taking away from famers for data centers? If you wonder why he hurts farmers, it's for their land. That way his oligarchs can buy the land from desperate people for dirt cheap. The republicans are rounding up people and jailing them. Whether it is the color of your skin, the language you speak or just down right opposing their government. Talk about nationalizing industries. Trump has done that. I went out this morning and it was glorious! I don't usually use that word, but it did feel good to get away from the heat and humidity. Knowing our luck, we will be back to that by next week. I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Although my daughter did not win, she came close to the top 20. We went from 104 to 34. If I had treated this more seriously, she would have made it. Maybe they will do it again. Thanks again! The thing that threw me off was, that in the beginninng, they did not let you write much. Also, before voting started they wanted a picture of your child in a cape. I get a text today to go after a chicken. Our neighbor saw one in her yard. I was surprised because our chickens go everywhere, especially the Guineas. This one was acting strange. I went over with the food scoop. Usually, they come running. This chicken just stayed there. I had to climb the fence to get to it. It let me come up to it. They don't usually do that. I picked it up. It felt warm. I tossed it over the fence. Luckily, the grass was tall. The chicken did not flap its wings. They are not the best flyers, but they will do it to get around short distances. Another thing is this chickens head was a little strange. Sort of like a fungus. I did not really see its eyes. I decided to drop it in the back yard. If it is sick, I do not want it getting the others sick. It can still find food and there is water. I wonder if a predator grabbed it and lost hold of it in her yard. I still can't understand how it got over there.

I went out to feed the chickens and it felt great. We had a cool breeze. The humidity was low. I hear we are going to have our first cold front. Drier air at least. She did it. The 16 year old from Thailand won America's Got Talent. She deserved it. She is a true talent. If you get a chance look up her final song. It was amazing. Then, last night, she performed with Linkin Park. I can't wait to see what she does next. Hopefully, she will stay grounded and continue to broaden her amazing talents.

Politicians are scrambling to distance themselves from Trump. I wonder why? Some will have a hard time, like Byron Donalds. His only real claim to political fame is trump. Now he acts like he did not endorse him. He's touting other lesser politicians like rubio and scott. He even says Charlie Kirk endorsed him. I have a hard time beleiving that. I don't even know if Donalds had declared he was running before he lost his life. I think people should ask for proof that he actually endorsed him. As for the rest, they did. They do anything master trump tells them to do. I guess when your popularity is below 30%, you are not really going to bring in votes. One of my favorite months is coming up. I think this year I will do a movie a day following some great or not so great horror movies. I say not so great because that is in the eye of the beholder. Some might have wooden acting and great special effects. Most that I will address do not have CGI. Even if it had existed, they had small budgets. They would have been forced to come up with a cheap way to make it seem real. I will even drop a link for Amazon if you want to check into it. It may be a costly proposition. If the title is out of pring (OOP), the prices they charge are astronomical. You might even be able to look up the movie via streaming. I remember when I was young, HBO would play horror movies in October. That was only if we had HBO. If we did, we had assistance getting it. My mom would not pay for it back then. The streamers are screwing its customers again. Disney has rewritten contracts to allow them to force commercials on us. It guess this has always been the plan. Get people addicted to streaming and little by little start bringing in commercials. They didn't forget to keep raising prices. I think I might reevaluate the ones we subscribe to. I really don't watch Disney, Netflix or the others. I find Tubi to be my favorite. Yes they play commercials, but they do not charge for access. These streamers are getting out of hand. Streaming is now cable done digitally. I think I will stick to physical media. Really, I don't care much for the new movies. I do wish the prices would drop for older movies. I find it ridiculous to pay 30-40 for a movie from the 70's/80's. The only reason is the companies keep it out of circulation. That drives up prices. I am so tired of having a Dictator Lite running this country. It's like Game of Thrones when Joffrey took over. Trump is that kind of person. Only now, his minders are all yes people who are actually scared of him. A diaper wearing clown that uses makeup and wears a wig. This guy commits crimes like there is no tomorrow. It is too bad that his followers don't see that when he is making money, they are not. I guess racism and white supremacy are worth them losing money.

Republicans are still trying to cheat in the upcoming election. In Missouri, they ruled that a map the Supreme Court shut down can be used. Can you guess who said that? I'm not making money off of high prices. It's the person who is supposed to work for the American people. He is making money off of all those oil stocks he has. He will wait on Iran because, he will not feel the affects of it. Maybe in the future, they should create a law that makes those in power feel the affects of their bad policies. Instead, they keep whinning about not getting paid enough to virtually do nothing! All while our bills increase everyday. They won't do anything about healthcare because they have free healthcare. Politicians are so out of touch. It is time we make them realize that we are suffering!

Putin was elected, again. Probably by a landslide. I guess when you are really the only person running or that people are allowed to vote for, it can only end that way. Trump wishes he could rig an election this way. He might try. Hopefull, the people will not stand for it. I don't even know why he holds elections in Russia. Everyone knows he will be there for the rest of his life. The people will not turn on him. He will jail or execute them.

I was reading headlines and I see a story from the Orlando Sentinal about a movie set in Orlando. I can't read it. It has a pay wall. I look up the movie. It hits me. It is about a family that has adopted daughter's from Korea. One has a cognitive disability. She cares for her aging parents. That is our future. We are concerned with what will happen when we are no longer here. Time is flying by and we are not getting younger. I just hope their sisters will be there for them. I was out yesterday and lovebugs were everywhere. Mowing stirred them up. Driving stirs them up. I stopped at a light and was swarmed by them. What makes things worse is when you hit higher speads, your car gets splattered with them. Then, you have to clean it off or their blood will damage a cars paint job. It is a pain in the butt to clean off. Winshields stay dirty until they disappear. If you wonder what they look like, they look like a firefly. They are types that are connected by the butt. Sort of like that cartoon Catdog!

Resident Evil cost about $40 Million. This weekend the domestic take was $60 million. Overall, it brought in over $100 million. When they create a good story, people will come out to see it. Fans of the series have been looking for this. Whether it appealed to them will have to be seen. This movie did not go into all the lore of the series. I liked it that way. Next up, Avengers redux! They are hoping to build excitement for the upcoming Avengers movie. It should also bring in more for its historical box office take.

Be careful when buying pasture raised chicken. It will probably take more than 1 to feed a family. If you are looking for big breasts, corporate raised are for you. We cooked up a chicken the other day. I started looking for the breasts. This one must have exercised everyday. Its breasts were nonexistant. The drumsticks were smaller. I would say it was a tasty bird. My daughters even grabbed the frame trying to take off any missed meat. It was kind of hard to find. Cook 2 or more if you are feeding 4 or more people.

I took my daughter to see Resident Evil. If uou asked her about it she will know nothing. It makes me wonder what she retains. She uses a device for the blind. She hears the dialogue and a discription. As for the movie. You do not need to be a fan of the game to understand it. The character goes in with no knowledge. It had some humor. It had sone jump scares. Overall, it was entertaining!

I read an article headline that said rubio is reshaping himself as trump's unapologetic emissary. Isn't it called a lackey? He knows if he does not, he will not be accepted by trump or his cult. He wants power so much that he is willing to belittle himself. He's willing to sell out people just like his parents. Remember, they came to America illegally and gave birth to him. He is what the MAGA would call an anchor baby.

The last couple of days have been comfortable in Florida. The humidity disappeared. We had a breeze and it was not scorching hot. Alas, I don't think it will last. It is showing what we are getting ready for. I love the fall. Especially after hot summers. In North Carolina, October ushers in a great pattern. You can sleep with the windows open. Not in Florida. Even if it does cool down, mosquitos do not die so easily. If you want to go to the theme parks, now is the time.

I am not a fan of video game movies. Most suck! Resident Evil, coming out today, might be worth the time. Zach Cregger is directing. He has done 2 really good films with Barbarian and Weapons. Let's hope he continues his progress. I hear this will be a one off. He does not want to be the guy doing multiple sequels. Who knows! If it makes enough money, the studio will shower him with money and financing of personal projects. If it fails, they will blame him. How much is trump getting out of this? Surely he can not be doing it for free! He is destroying the US standing in the world. What are his minion politicians doing? Nothing! Have you every seen The Hurt Locker? It was a great movie. It centered on the men who detonate bombs during war. I think we need a movie for the men who were tunnel rats during Viet Nam. Those guys had to have some real courage. I could never do it. I could not even do an MRI withouth freaking out. These guys had to climb in tight fitting tunnels. They did not know what they were going to encounter. The Vietnamese had booby traps, venomous snakes,etc down there. They built these tunnels in such a way as to insulate themselves from grenades and other tactics. A tunnel rat could encounter a whole platoon underground. I was watching a video about the making of Conan the Barbarian. It was very interesting. Movies all have a story behind what was shot. I saw this when I was young. It always made an impression on me. The sequel was not good. They turned it into a kids movie. I hate when Hollywood takes a great adult movie and tones it way down. Robocop had that same fate. They did it gradually. The producer always envisioned a universe of movies. Only, he should have stuck with the adult angle. I did see where Arnold says they will be shooting a long anticipated King Conan. I turn on YouTube today and find a news story about a possible serial killer. Not much has come out so far. A housed linked to the disappearance of 5 women, drugs and lots of pictures. It sounds like it might be a father son duo. It also sounds like law enforcement might have dropped the ball. The father was arrested prior to this. They found ID's belonging to women. Since there were no missing people, it was turned over to the DA.

I took a step in supporting our local farmers/ranchers. I think all people in the US should do this. Find a local place that sells what is grown and/or raised in your community/state/country. With all these recalls, who knows what these corporations are selling us. I found a local butcher and bought some ground beef. Everyone said it tasted great and was actually cheaper than Wal-Mart. We plan to look harder into these places. I want my money to go to the people who actually do the work, not some conglomerate! When you buy meat in the US, the USDA protects the companies, not the people. Especially under this president! Nothing he does protects our country. As I might have said in the past, I worked in a movie theater from 1990 to 2000. It was a fun job. The pay was not great, but we got to see movies before they came out. We got posters, tshirts and buttons. Sometimes, we even had a promotion where the actual actors appeared. My first couple of weeks saw the arrival of Days of Thunder. We were lucky enough to host a premiere in Raleigh, NC. I guess because the movie filmed in NC. Michael Rooker actually appeared. Unfortunately, I could not meet or see him. Yesterday, we got another tshirt for my daughter. It was for the Beatles. Great shirt. Best part, it did not cost an arm and a leg. It was large and fit my daughter. She was so happy when she saw it. I opened the news again today and saw where there was another recall. This time ground beef. I tell you this administration is trying to make all of our food unsafe. I recently made a chicken bake. Costco sells it in their concession area. It is pizza dough with chicken, Caesar Salad dressing, bacon and cheese. I did add cooked onions to it. It was good. Looking at it, I had an idea. Do it on a smaller scale and I can make my own Hop Pockets. I could change the filling to pizza sauce/pepperoni, Ham and cheese, etc! Then, I can freeze them for the family to each for lunches. The way things are going, I can feel better knowing it does not have as many preservatives in it. Plus I can make what ever combo I can think of.

When I was younger, I had a love of reading. Maybe not all books. One thing that really pissed me off was when I read about books people were trying to ban. I made it a point to read those books. My school had some decent books that we had to read. Some were not for me. I hate when someone says I can not read something. It just motivates me. Catcher in the Rye, Shogun, anything Stephen King, Death Be Not Proud, etc. I still am trying to look for books that hit the banned list. If they are banning it, it must be good. It also has important messages from the writers. If you want a good book, look at what governments are trying to ban! It would be interesting to see what they currently have teens reading in school. Trump's Iranian war is getting worse. They have found a way to really put the hurt on the rest of the world by attacking oil. Our prices are getting out of hand. What does our leader do about it? He tells Ukraine to stop bombing Russian oil. Why not tell Russia to stop bombing civilians! He wants everyone to think Ukraine is driving up their gas prices. It is trump's war and the stupidity around it. They did no research. They thought it would be like Venezuela. I guess they missed where Iran has been sanctioned to death and still survives. Now they are turning the tables. Eventually people in the US will turn on trump. Hopefully, it will be at the ballot box.

I went by Sonic yesterday. I had a free birthday milkshake. I entered it into the app. At the end, it asked if I wanted to go with the regular tip of 30%. They did not give a $0 choice. You could go under custom and put $0. Why not just pay your employees? If you have to raise prices, than so be it. I am tired of being asked to tip. You see it everywhere. This is for jobs that do not usually get tipped, like a clerk in a grocery store. Even the fast food places are ridiculous to ask for them. All while the CEO's make millions. I loved it when people of other countries came to America and ran into tipping. They refused to pay and said the employers should pay them what they are worth. Tipping is almost like the homeless holding out signs. Only these people are actually working, just not getting much in pay. The Republican way of life. They like letting big companies underpay their employees and give them meaningless insurance.

Don't you love this time of year? I love the fall, but can do withouth the political circus. I have not seen as many commercials as in the past. I have stayed away from local tv. It still makes it on YouTube and other social media sites. I wish they would not show my commercials that do not match my political views. Especially when industries like AI are trying to lobby me to call a senator that is probably already in their pocket. Of course, when it comes to republicans it is always framed in freedom, American greatness, etc. It's all lies. It is about them gaining more freedom to spy on us and take away our freedoms. Lying is no longer an issue when it comes to politics. They can and do say anything they want. Since the republicans have all the money, they drown us in these ads. My daughter has a love for music. She loves all kinds, rock, pop, etc. She would constantly sing Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc. Recently, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston have crept into her library of songs. Everyday when I get home and all weekend long we get renditions of their songs. She is actually singing more lyrics than usual. I like that. Having lived through those songs that got heavy rotation on radio stations, I am reliving those days. It's okay. She will move onto others in the near future, I hope!

This summer we wanted rain. It was so dry and hot. Now we are getting it. It falls quicker than it disappears. At my house, it is washing sand away. I went out trying to dig some up and replenish. It is a losing battle. We have a tractor, but gues what? It takes diesel. We'd have to take out a loan just to fill the tank. The fall quickly approaches. Lovebugs are in full bloom. If you see someone's car with bug splatters, they have probably been to Florida.

Gas prices keep going up. While we suffer there are people actually making money off of it. Trump. He owns gas and oil stocks. What incentive does he have to end his Iran War? None. Look at the oil and gas companies. I bet their executives will be making record breaking bonuses this year. All while pretending they are not part of the problem. It's another 9/11. Do you feel safer? I don't. We are still meddling in the Middle East and making enemies. Especially when we lob missiles that kill civilians. That is a perfect recipe for creating "terrorists". Why the ""? If it were your family and/or friends, how would you react? What happened after 9/11? It was a full on revenge mission. We decided to add Iraq to the mix. They even lied about ties to Al Queda and Weapons of Mass Destruction. Now we've lied ourselves into another war. Once again, we pay and the rich get richer. But at least politicians pretend to love the military. They don't have the ability to show love by paying them more or giving them better healthcare/housing.

This is it. Florida has hit peak season for hurricanes. Luckily, no activity. We even hit a record. Longest time without a hurricane making landfall or longest without a named storm. I was reading that winter may be intense because of the El Nino. That will be a burden on those that depend on oil for heat. Trump's war is getting worse. Free ranging can be really hard and depressing. I went out today and saw 3 Guniea Fowl. We started with 10 or so. The problem is that they are very independent. They like to roam the neighborhood. Mexico will pay for the wall, we are not experiancing an inflation crisis, The Iran war is over, Donors are paying for the ballroom, trump is not getting paid, He's the best president of all time, etc. Don't believe this crap. As soon as the smoke clears he will deny saying it, even though it is on tape. They are probably already doctoring it to allow his deniability. This is as bad as the DOGE Divident. I read a story addressing philanthropy and yhe ultra rich. This guy looks like the villian Egghead that Vincent Price played in the show. He daid that he believes charities provide a net negative benefit. Skip that crap! These people need to pay there fair share of taxes. I mean the more a person makes the more they have to pay in taxes. These jerks run companies that under pay their employees and pocket the extra money made. I am so sick of these damn politicians protecting them to become rich themselves!

I got to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It was a great movie start to finish. They did an amazing job hiding the villain. That is really hard for Hollywood to do! It looks like it is paying off. It has made 2.4 billion in the global box office. If you like the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, you will love this one. Go check it out! I really hate typing on my phone. Especially if I am not wearing my glasses.

Yesterday, I got to see Obsession. Wow! What a movie! I tell you, it can be a hard watch. It is sort of like watching Taxi Driver. The main character seems like a shy, insecure male trying to get the attention of a woman. When he uses a device to force that, it changes gears fast. It will make you uncomfortable. Maybe this is a movie against rape culture. Watch the movie and decide yourself! The performances were great. This was a low budget movie that beat out high budget summer movies. Curry Barker is a talent to watch out for. It was an impressive first film. I hear he has a second movie in the works. Not a sequel. He has been signed up to do a Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. I wish him well on that, but the first will always be the best for me. I just hope he centers on the psychological part of the horror and not the gore part. I think the crowds have died down. I finally got my tickets from giving blood. I plan to finally see Spider-Man on the big screen. I have been looking forward to this all summer. Tired of all these recalls? Tired of all the chemicals they are putting into our prepared foods? Tired of prices going up every week? I have a solution: make it yourself. Yesterday, I made English Muffins. I found a recipe on the web. I doubled it. I started adding the ingredients to my bread maker. When I hit flour, I found out I had a problem. It asked for 12 cups of flour. My bread machine will not hold that much. I added 6 and prayed that it would not fail. When it was done with the dough cycle, I opened the top. It was liquid ooze. It was bubbling. When dealing with yeast, you want to see that. It means the yeast is working. I poured it into a bowl and added 6+ cups of flour. I needed enough where I could touch it and not fully stick to my fingers. I oiled it and covered it to rise. It did! I rolled out the dough and cut out the muffins and then let it rise again. In the end, I came up with more than 25! We tried them. It was good. I kept half in the fridge...

Everyday I hear people complain about how the youth acts entitled. It seems older people are truely entitled. I was at Costco looking at muffins. This guy walks right in front of me. He does not say excuse me. If you look at the website dedicated to The Villages, these people post really vile things. Heaven forbid you are not a fan of trumps. They will attack you. You'd think these people would be smart enough to identify a con artist, but maybe it's deminished capacity. All I know is that this area has some of the most entitled in the state, maybe even the world. They have karens that monitor grass heights and other HOA offenses. They complain about the outside of a neighbors house, even when they know that person is in the hospital or dead. What happened to giving a helping hand? Oh yeah, they believe that is communism. No wonder trump loves them. They attack whatever trump tells them to, even if the person is speaking the truth, like releasing the Epstein file...

I went to Costco today. I saw a woman walking around with her kid. She was recording it. I doubt she was shopping for one person. I guess she was an influencer. If we decide to do it with our daughter, I will try my best not to record our weekly shopping. I would find that to be extremely boring!

Trump's idiot cabinet members say thst we are not having inflation and things are great. I guess they do not shop for groceries. I keep seeing where prices are increasing. WalMart tries to trick you with rollback stickers. I guess that is a distraction. The way that gas keeps rising, everything will keep going up.

Older movies are great for watching. Especially when they have young actors. Keanu Reeves was in this movie, as well as others. I have seen the cover at video stores in the day. I never watched it. If I did, I forgot about it. Maybe I even found it boring if I saw it as a teenager. As a person of age, I noticed one thing. The indifference to the death of a fellow student. Sure enough, that was the point of the movie. It is based on a true story. People were amazed on how these teens had sightseeing visits to the body. They even knew their friend had done the killing. One gift that my dad gave me when I was younger was an appreciation of reading. He gave me some money and we went to a book shop or something like that. I used the money to buy First Blood and Carrie. First Blood was a movie I enjoyed. I'm pretty sure my dad pushed me towards Carrie. I did not know Stephen King. These books gave me a greater love of books. After Carrie, I needed to read more King. One book that I loved from my early years was Night Shift. This book is a collection of short stories. If you have not read it, check it out. A lot of the stories are only a couple of pages long. Some of the stories have been made into movies or tv episodes. After these, I bought most of his books when they cam out. Either that or asked as gifts. I remember my mom chastising me for asking my Grandparents for one of his books. I saw a movie the other day called Soldier. I remember it as being this kick ass film. When I rewatched it, I realized that it was on par with Cannon Films and had really bad acting. I hit another milestone tomorrow. As you get older, you don't want as much. That creates a problem for people who want to buy you a gift. I really can't think of anything. I liked Funko Pops. They have doubled in price. This for a plastic collectible. I love movies, but they have gone up in price due to scarcity. Streamers are forcing companies in cutting back. The problem is that the streamers control what you watch. I don't care much for digital purchases. The companies own it. They are taking it away when they want to. Can't do that with physical media. Forget about eating out. When McDonald's cost more than Chili's, things are getting out of hand. Right now, I just want to clean and get rid of some thinks. Oh well, I don't know what to do.

Carnival's new loyalty program came out. Now they value cash over time spent cruising. The higher you spend, they more you are recognized. Seems like a bad time to do this. I know it works for Disney, but Carnival keeps building ships. They will need people to pay for cruises. I don't think that the rich will do it all for them. Especially when you have companies that actually cater to the rich. Seems like they are cutting off their nose despite their face. I know that loyalty was not a reason for us to use them. Now, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The benefits aren't that great. They weren't that great before either. My daugher is really getting into pop music. I walked in last night and she was singing Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson. Of course, she had her own lyrics. So, if you want to go on a cruise, keep watching those sites. I think they have built too much capacity and things are slowing down. With that comes an issue. The companies need to pay off the building of all those ships. They will need people to be on those ships. It may be in the form of special pricing or onboard credits. I know we will keep an eye out. I saw on an upcoming release schedule that The Devils Uncut is being released to theaters. I was lucky enough to see this in college, though I am having a hard time remembering it. Hopefully, I will be able to see it or buy it if it comes out on DVD. I loved films like this. Subversive films tend to get black listed because one group or another takes offense to it. They should watch them and have conversations. Of course, when religion is the subject the churches want to shut it down. If you have a chance to see it. I hear is is not for the faint of heart. I could not even say we watched an uncut version of the film.

Adam Wingard's Onslaught starts Friday. Reviews are coming out. I hate reviews for something I am looking forward to seeing. So far it has been mixed. I really want to see it. Trump has picked another person like himself to give a major contract to. For the Venezualan oil, he picked a man who came from a rich family and is under investigation for money laundering. His company does not have a proven record. Just the kind of criminal trump likes. He probably sees himself in this guy. Well, maybe not. He's not white, but he is a man born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He talks up what he can do, even though he seems to fail, alot. I tell you, anyone trump associates with should be looked at with suspicion! Case in point, the guy he is backing for Florida Governor. Here is a carpetbagger who couldn't make it in another state, who moved here and is now making deals. Wait, this sounds like trump! Remember, trump is a racist. Just look at the lawsuit the Federal Authorities filed agains him and his father.

Trump is using the American name to rile up his fascist supporters. First it was the Gulf of Mexico, now Lake Ontario. I'm surprised he's not naming them after himself. He is doing that to federal buildings and airports. To me, the names have not changed. I will always call them by their correct names. I will not be stupid like a plane full of morons cheering "America" going over the Gulf of Mexico. These fights with our neighbors only fuels his white supremacist base. My daughter has really started getting into Whitney Houston. She is belting our I want to Dance with Somebody. She even wants to find the chords to play the song on her guitar. I told her I don't really think it has chords to play on a guitar. I hear more electronic music. I am probaly wrong. I think most music can be played on guitar. Buc ee's has come out as ultra conservative. They only want to build in red states. Why would a business do this? What happens if that state goes blue? Do they close their locations? I feel that they are really over rated. I like clean bathrooms. Their stores are like a three ring circus. They have plenty of clowns. The food was okay, but a little overpriced. The goods they sell look like they come out of a Rural King. Guess what? Every gas station has gas at almost the same price. No selling point there. I'd rather go to another station where I am not fighting for a pump and/or parking space. I have seen that. I looked forward to visiting one, but after I am not suffering from FOMO. Now that the CEO has put his 2 cents in the ring, I really don't feel the need to visit one. I have seen that food manufacturers have a new selling point protein. You have commercials where kids are going crazy because it has protein in their food. This has to be the most lame selling point I have ever seen. I know I could care less. My kids would not act that way. I guess they are going for the Tik Tok affect. If they show teens acting stupid about protein, then they hope it will start a trend. This would be like having a commercial where kids find out something is healthy for them. What is the point? Are kids really crazy about protein? Will this lead to steroids in our food and that becomes the next selling point? I bet Pete Hegseth would love it if they would add extra testosterone in food and made that a selling point!

I read the book for The Dog Stars. It was okay. It surprised me that they decided to make a big budget movie from it. To me, it was something they could have done on a smaller budget. As for the actors, they would have been better off going with up and coming versus established. This is a book that is like The Postman meets Mad Max. It would be more like Mad Max lite! They made it for $80 million+. Back in the 90's they could have done a story like this for $10 Million. I don't know where the money went. It should not have been a CGI heavy film. The book had a lot of talking until the end.

America is doing it again! We are trying to take a country's oil for private companies. I bet trump holds stock in whichever company takes the plunge. If no money goes back to the people, they will revolt again. Our country never learns from history. I know trump is not a smart man, just like Forest Gump. Every time he fails, he seems to win. I think the oil companies are worried about sinking money into their infrastructure and not getting the return they expect. It's sad how we push democracy, unless we get something out of it. Now we are perfectly content with the authoritarian goverment in place. It really should surprise anyone, though. Trump respects authoritarians.

The air conditioner person came out. Turns out it was just a little fuse that got burned out. The black stuff on the thing we looked at was just grease. They did help clean out the pipes of the other units. They said to use white vinegar to keep it clean. At least we did not need a loan to pay for the service call. AI is only so smart. Too bad it couldn't tell us to check the fuses.
