Black Mirror Season 4

Season 4 of Black Mirror is on Netflix.  If you have not seen this series, you need to check it out.  It is like the Twilight Zone with technology.  Those that have seen it, it's back.  It's just as good as it has been.

Star Wars Fanatic

I got a lot of Star Wars items this Christmas.  I sort of wished I had collected all along.  Some things are valuable.  For me, it's just neat to have.  I got some shirts, pops, tsum tsums, mugs, and a cup. My office will be decked out.

Christmas 2017

I woke early this morning.  The kids were not even stirring.  I ate some breakfast and looked over Twitter. When I went back to the room, one was up and another was. Stirring.  I kept them on the room until anther appeared.  At that point, I asked if it was time to wake.  Going back to the room, I noticed Elana had escaped.  I corralled her back in the room.  I woke the last stragglers and turned on lights.  I jumped! Something had moved.  I was not ready for it.  It was a toy dog.

Everyone came out to the living room and opened gifts.  I think we had a great Christmas.  I got a drone and lots of Funko Pops.  I hope I have room at work.

Christmas Eve 2017

Started the day shopping.  I am bad at Christmas shopping. I either procrastinate or find out near Christmas that I did not buy many gifts.  Luckily, Elana and I got out early.  We got in and out.  At one point, Elana tells me that I forgot to buckle her.  We were on the highway heading home.  I looked in the mirror and noticed that I had buckled her.  She was repeating something she had heard from Mia.

Morning Show

Our movie was st 9:00 am.  I remember working shows like that.  We got to the theater around 8:30 am.  At that time, the theater shows an entertainment video.  Breakfast was popcorn and soda.  Breakfast of champions! There were about 20 to 30 others in the theater.

Break Out the Robes

Trump is not even worrying about most Americans.  Staying loyal to his base, he is claiming that all Haitians have AIDS and that Nigerians still live in huts.  I guess it plays well in the cheap seats. Next thing you know, he'll hold a cross burning on the White House lawn.  The GOP will be right there cheering him on.

Jedi Love

I don't see where all the anger is coming from.  The Last Jedi was amazing.  I guess there will always people that hate things.  It has humor, action, drama.  What more could you ask for.  Wait till you see how the Porgs fit into the story.  I love the new characters and the actors/actresses that played them.  By all means, go see this movie.  It is worth your time and money.

The Last Jedi

Stay tuned.  At the theater now!

Warm Christmas

While others have a white Christmas, we will be having a warm one.  I'm in shorts and the air is on.  I might even go out to pull weeds.  The Nazis will be watching.  One spy likes to let you know everyday.

Things we do in the Shadows

So, the GOP bill for the rich is going to pass.  They wrote it in secret, with the help of rich donors and lobbyists.  They even through in things right up to the last minute.  Did the Democrats flinch?  No.  They sat there and whined.  I think their strategy is the let them have the rope and they will hang themselves.  To me, they are weak and non confrontational.  That is why the slimy turtle knows he can do whatever he wants.  Next up, shutting down medicaid and other welfare programs to pay for the tax cuts for the rich.  But don't worry if you are not rich.  The Democrats will beat that drum for 11 months.  If you expect relief, vote out the bums.  Schumer and Pelosi have no other plans.

Shopping at Night

I had Secret Santa shopping detail last night.  After the play, we went right to the store.  It was packed.  They had lines that rivaled Black Friday.  The people were annoying.  I don't understand why people think that others want to hear their conversations.  These people have loud conversations on their phone, like they are in their living room.  It's a nightmare.  Be careful telling them to be quiet.  You may get beat up or shot.  I saw a story out of the Miami area where a woman was attacked by 5 or 6 others.  Thank God for Amazon.

Evening Show

I brought my daughters for an evening play that one of my girls was appearing in.  I tell you.  I'm not a fan of being around other families.  Maybe it's just a closeness thing or the way some of them act.  Most act like their kid deserves the spotlight.  They're even willing to push you out of the way to get that shot.  I did not get to see it, though.  My youngest was very restless.  It took forever to start.  By start time, I was in the hallway, daughter in lap.  I even had to motion for some kids to move on.  They were amazed by Elana's blindness.  I just motioned for them to move on.  I can imagine once the show started, everyone had their phones out.  Schools should ban that and tape it themselves and put it on their site or send it to all parents.  That way, people can enjoy it without interruption.

Painting on the Wall

Last night, I made a huge error.  When one of my daughters gets home, we usually put her in a onesie.  Why?  Because she had a tendency to do bad things with her diaper.  I'm cooking dinner.  My daughter smells something.  We thought it was another child.  I checked her and it was not her.  I finished dinner.  I go to bring said child to the table.  As I closed in, the smell of poop got stronger.  On the wall in front of her is a nice finger paint she did for us.  Oh and she used her poop to create it.  I blew up.  I was yelling, but it did not matter.  She could not hear me.  I had to clean her up, the wall up and everything around her.  It was gross.  I'm surprised that I did not throw up.  I did have other daughters who were mad at me.  I know, I handled it wrong.  I am not a fan of cleaning up poop.

Good Reviews Versus Bad Reviews

I see a story on Forbes about how the The Last Jedi is the least liked of the series.  But, the critics have it at 93%.  How is that?  I guess this reviewer is trying to get fans to boycott the movie.  I will have to see for myself.  I really do not trust others opinions.  I tried watching the Phantom Menace.  I could not get into it.  The kid was annoying as hell.  Jar Jar was added for toddlers to laugh at his asinine antics.  Then there is the way Jedi's are discovered.  They have a Midi-Chlorian blood test that they forgot about in the later movies?  That does not make sense.  You did not see Yoda question Obi-Wan about Luke's Midi-Chlorian count.  I don't remember him saying "Check him for Midi-Chlorians did you?".

Outlet Shopping in Orlando

We tried to go to an outlet store last night.  Big mistake.  Close to Christmas, you either go early or not at all.  We drove around and there were no spots to be found.  People were parking where they were not allowed.  Tow truck drivers were busy.  When I got out, I ran to a store and quickly got what I needed.  I grabbed for my phone and it was dead.  It took some time to find my ride. By that time, the Christmas spirit was gone.

Neighbors. From Hell

For starters, don't ever buy into an HOA.  What is it.  A Home Owners Association.  Basically, they are like the Stalinist form of communism.  Only, if you mess up, the can fine you and put a lien on your house.  We got a notice.  We have weeds.  We have 10 days to comply.  We got it with 2 days left.  Believe me, they are evil.  Some neighbors like the power of ratting out people.  We've lived here for more than 15 years.

Hot Day in Florida

We went from hear to air conditioning in a matter of days.    I'm sitting on the trampoline with two of my daughters.  They get tired of being cooped up.  It is warm out.

The Last Jedi

The new Star Wars is out.  I hope to see it, but I don't know when that will be possible.  There are actually about 3-4 movies coming out that I want to see.  I did not get to see the Shape of Water.  Downsizing looks good and I think Jumanji might be worth seeing.  Get out and see some movies.

Shape of Water

It looks like I will get to see this movie tonight.  It is a movie by Guillermo del Toro.  I can't wait to see this.  I love the movies by this man.  Pan's Labrynth, Blade II, Pacific Rim, to name a few.  His best work comes from his own original ideas.

Kingsman 2

I took the girls to see Kingsman 2.  We liked it.  It had lots of actions and a touch of comedy.  Definitely not for kids of a younger age.  It was a great way to spend a cold day.  We are cooler than usual, but it won't last.

New Museum

In Mississippi, they are having a grand opening for a civil rights museum.  The only problem is they invited a racist to attend.  What were they hoping to attract?  The Klan.  Maybe they wanted a good old fashioned cross burning.  Now people like John Lewis refuse to attend.  I don't blame him.  I wanted want to be a part of Trump's photo op.

Why Bother?

Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.  Why?  We all know it.  Other countries know it.  No one has publicly recognized it.  They are trying to broker a peace deal.  But by siding with Israel, he is showing that the US is firmly on one side.  Palestinians will not trust our country.  Not only that, but he makes it less safe for Americans outside of the US.  This just piles on to his Muslim ban.  Trump is trying to start a "holy war" for his Radical Christian groups.  They love it.  It scares me.

The Disaster Artist

A movie came out this week that looks worth seeing.  It is called the Disaster Artist.  It was done by James Franco.  It is sort of like Ed Wood.  Another person who went to Hollywood and was determined to make his own movie.  Albeit a really bad film that has gained cult status called The Room.  From what I have seen, it looks interesting.  I like Ed Wood.  Do I think they deserved Oscars over Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction? Hell No!

Mulan Casting

Guess what? Hollywood is not trying to white wash Mulan, so far.  They actually hired a Chinese actress.  Lui Yifei will be playing Mulan.  She was in The Forbidden Kingdom and Ip Man 3.  I look forward to future casting, as long as they are Asian.  Anything less would be an insult to the culture and story.

War of the Planet of the Apes

I finally got to see this movie.  If you have not watched the current series, you are missing a really great story.  The story lines, the acting, the special effects.  Rise, Dawn and War represent the character arc of Caesar.  If you saw the original Ape movies, you would know he established their community and way of life.  In addtion to having action, these movies have a lot of emotion/drama built into the stories.

Ghost in the Shell

I saw Ghost in the Shell.  It was an ambitious film.  Much like Blade Runner.  I know there was controversy over Scarlett Johansson's casting.  I think it would have been better served with an Asian actress.  Would it have done better? That's hard to say.  They wanted a named actor to sell the movie.  It explores themes similar to Blade Runner.  We saw how that ended up doing.  I liked it.  It is a visual overkill.  Sort of like Speed Racer.

Panhandling Hits a New Low

In Florida, we have lots of panhandlers.  Some are just desperate for food or money.  Some look like they have made it their fulltime job.  One day, a couple of them were converging on a street corner.  It looked like an employee meeting.  I have even seen where one person will stand back while another stands at the corner.  I wondered if that was a training day.  Yesterday, I saw a new low.  An Egret was standing at an intersection.  I looked around and saw a police car.  So, I do not know if he had a cardboard sign.  They hide signs when they see the police.

Fun Spot Fiction

At the amusement park with two of my daughters and one friend.  I brought the youngest with me.  She's a daddy's girl.  I felt I could tire her out.  We have just returned from eating.  The rest is fiction.

We walked into the park.  A crowd had gathered.  The girls were excited to return, but they were a little full.  At the front, we noticed a sign we must have missed.  $10 Sky Coaster.  This is a ride where 1 to 3 get in a harness held in place by a big white cord.  Once in place, another line pulls them up high into the sky.  At the top, the person(s) has to pull a cord to release. Gravity does the rest.

Of course, my daughter would see it.

"Dad, can we? It's only $10.  You will save a lot of money".

"I can save more by not paying for it".

"Please?"  she looks at me with a sad puppy dog look.

Usually, that does not work.  I would just walk on and ignore it for the rest of the day. But, I was feeling generous.

"Okay".

They ran to the coaster.  When I made it, they held out a hand for the money and one with a clipboard.  On it was a waiver.  It had about 20-30 pages of finely typed legalese.  I did not have my glasses.  I guessed it was all that you could do and not do.  If anything happened, we would not sue them.

I flipped to the last page and signed it.  I turned to my daughter.  She had her hand on her stomach.

"Are you okay?  Maybe we should rest awhile and come back."

Seeing her opportunity shrinking, she shook her head.

"Bring it on!"

They hook her and her friend into the harness.  It was time to rise.  We found out that it is 250 feet in the air.  I did not have glasses, I thought I could see a shade of green coming over my daughter's face.

At the top, they were silent.  The another gave them a count down and nothing.  He told them to pull the strings.  My daughter pulled.  It jerked a little and a laugh could be heard.  Before my daughter could react, the other line was pulled.

Then came a moment of freefall.  Something else was coming out of my daughter's mouth.  She looked like one of those dragons from Game of Thrones spitting fire across the land.

Only that was not fire projecting out of her mouth.  If I had not been trying to capture this special moment, I would be fine.  Like any good parent trying to catch that moment with a phone, I was caught off guard.

I felt a drop.  I pulled away the phone and was hit full force by the ammunition.  It hit with such a force that I went down. I looked like Bill Murray's character from Ghostbusters.  My other daughter must have thought the same thing.

"Daddy got slimed! Daddy got slimed!"

Giving Blood

I gave blood today.  They were happy to see me.  Being O negative makes me kind of popular. They had me use this special machine.  I don't think I have used it before.  I would feel cold then warm.  I made it through without passing out. I got some movie tickets and a Tervis tumbler.

Movie Day

I have a movie or two to watch.  Movie theaters will be prepared, also.  I don't miss it though.  It was one day the theater expected us to be there.  New movies would open that day.  It usually is something big.  Sometimes, we'd get food.  You'd think the companies would pay for something.  Not movie theaters.  That would mean spending money.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Thanksgiving day.  We generally sit around the house, watch things on TV, and eat.  We might do some internet Black Friday shopping.  Angie may go out.  I will not.  It's not much fun.  If you wait a month or so, those hard to get things are plentiful.

Day Before Thanksgiving

What is everyone doing the day before Thanksgiving?  Well, I mean those in America that celebrate it.  I'm at work.  We get off tomorrow and Friday.  Friday, we have black Friday.  For those who do not know what it is.  It is a massive sale day.  Most stores offer great deals on a couple of items to entice people out to buy Christmas gifts.  Black for these sales means keeping the stores out of the red, as in they are making profit versus not hitting those sales goals.  I will be at home with the girls. I hate going out on that day.  People are really rude during those sales.  You see stories about people fighting over things.  Do you really need it that bad?

Another Entertainer has Died

David Cassidy has died.  My mom says I had some kind of musical instrument when I was a kid, but I don't remember that.  I know my brother had a Donnie and Marie instrument set.  Maybe, I am blocking it out on purpose.  You know these entertainers who die like this should be an example to the younger generation.  This is what drugs and alcohol do to you and your career.

Waiting Room

At the doctors for my annual checkup.  I hope to go back before he goes on lunch.  I'm hungry also.  My meds ran out and they will not reup.  I knew it was coming.

Orlando Traffic

Another hell day on Interstate 4.  A tractor-trailer had an accident.  I'm guessing it is going across all lanes.  I thought I could get to my exit before it backed up to where I was.  I was wrong.  It was close, but I still had to wait.  Not only that, it was causing side accidents.

Weekend Box Office

Justice League was the top movie.  I'd expect them to make serious changes.  It was an underwhelming win.  They need to get better writers.  One's who can be faithful to storylines.  Thor is still bringing in money. They changed up their formula.  DC could have used Marvel as how to do things better or correctly.

Sleep Deprivation

I am sleep deprived today.  My daughter woke up at 12.  She thought it was time to start playing around.  I drifted back to sleep.  She did not.  Around 3, she decided it was a good time to go back to sleep.  She is going to be irritable.  I may be a little.

Doppelganger

We went to get pictures today.  Everyone is getting them done.  Most have matching sweaters or because we live in Florida, they are resorting to tshirts.  One family looked like Cousin Eddie's family from Christmas Vacation.  Then I saw a woman that looked like Newt Gingrinch's wife.  I kid you not.  She was a doppelganger.

Music Loss

Malcolm Young died yesterday.  He was 64.  He and his brother were founding members of AC/DC.  I was lucky enough to see them in concert in 1988.  I know.  It was a long time ago.  They played with Cinderella.  Cinderella was okay.  Their sound was distorted and loud.  My brother and I had tickets in the floor area.  My brother saw seats in an upper area near the stage.  We went up there.  The ticket holders never showed.  We had amazing seats.  My ears rang for three days.  I'm glad I got to see them.  They came to Tampa last year.  They charged $100 for tickets.  We paid $19.00 for our concert.

Routine

It's early in the morning.  I'd like to sleep, but my daughter is used to waking this early.  I'm hoping she will go back to sleep.

Potty Time!

My youngest is talking about toilets.  I am hoping this means potty training.  She mentions it and wants us to bring her back.  When we do, she plays in the bathroom.  I can not force her to sit on it.  I think that part scares her.  We have to wait until she is ready.  I do not want to scar her for life by forcing her to do it.

Justice League Reviews

Reviews are coming out.  It does not sound very good for the movie.  This whole production has been marked by issues.  First of all, I think it is a rush job.  WB wants an Avengers type movie.  Instead of slowly building up to it like Marvel, they are trying to start with it and then branch out characters.  Second, the director left the project.  He says it was because of his daughter's death.  I don't blame him for stepping away for that reason.  I think the studio put pressure on him to take the leave.  Third, they use a villain that only comic book people would know.   Why not bring out a more recognizable villain?  Brainiac.  People kind of know him.  You can only use Lex Luthor so many times.  He's not even invincible.  Finally, from the previews, it looks just like Avengers.  A space villain comes to earth with minions.  The super heroes have to battle the minions.  When they go after the main villain, they discover it will take all of them to battle him.  Not much of a story.

Entertainment News

I hate entertainment news.  It is so stupid.  The hosts sit there and gush about these people.  They call them by pet names or their first names, like they know them.  Yesterday, I saw that Kardashian is having another baby.  But, since she did not want to carry it and it would disturb her fashion empire, she has paid someone to have the baby for her.  Then, we found out that she created a new fragrance that she came up with after her robbery.  I was wondering if it smelled like piss.  Who knows?  I usually try to turn it off as soon as I can.  Every time I watch it, I feel brain cells dying.

Holidays are Closing In

I can't believe Thanksgiving is around the corner.  I have to start getting ready for Christmas.  I don't even know what to buy people.  My older daughters say that we can just give them money or a phone.  I don't think either is going to happen.  I wish they would slow down and enjoy childhood while it is here.  I guess I was the same way.

Justice League

I love movies.  I really hate when storylines repeat.  We all saw the Avengers.  We saw an alien with lots of minions try to take over.  This looks like the plot of Justice League.  The irony is that Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the film.  He's the director of the Avengers.

A New Trilogy

Lucasfilm must have been impressed with Rian Johnson.  He's been hired to write a new trilogy for Star Wars. He will direct the first movie of that series.

Typical Florida Day

We took the girls to Fun Spot.  At first, I was getting worried.  We hit rain on the way there.  This is Orlando.  It can rain one minute and be dry the next.  As we pulled up, we saw a sign welcoming a company.  It was not that bad.  I was worried there would be lines.  It turned out to be a great day.  There was a little rain.  Our younger daughters got to ride some of the rides.  They seemed to enjoy it.

Disbelief on Stanger Things

Someone posted that they could not believe that parents would let their kids out like they do on the show.  I remember the 80's being that way for me.  My brother and I would ride bikes around the neighborhood and city.  As I look back, it was not the safest thing to do.  It was the way it was.

Disney, The Film Entertainment Empire?

Disney is looking at buy 20th Century Fox.  News not included.  I can see this.  That would give them X-Men, Star Wars (first three movies), Avatar, etc.  Are they going to become like the Empire from Star Wars?  I don't know.  So far, they have done great things.  I can not see this being a bad move for them.  I still think they should work with Netflix, instead of trying to go against them.  They are already a powerhouse.  To compete, Disney will have to produce original content for the platform.  Will they be able to do it at the rate Netflix is already doing it?  Only time will tell.

Batman in Justice League

I keep seeing the preview.  I'm wondering if it is going to be any good.  It looks just like Avengers.  They are all going after random minions, but they need to be together to go after the main villain.  Batman seems like he is putting on more padding every movie he does.  I'm surprised he can walk with all they body armor.  He looks like one of those ridiculous action figures.  You know, the ones where it looks like the toy is on steroids.  I guess kids can't imagine strength without all those un natural muscles.

Downsizing

I just saw the second preview for this movie.  I can't wait to see this one.  Hong Chau is an actress that I have like since seeing her in Inherent Vice and Treme.  Word is that she may get nominated for this on.  Check it out.  Check the movie out when it hits theaters.

Downsizing Preview

Thor Returns

Thor is back.  I want to see this one.  Mainly, because of the director.  Taika Waiti has done some really fun movies.  If you have not seen one of his movies, search them out.  What We Do in the Shadows is a mockumentary about Vampires living in a house.  Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a movie about a foster child who goes on an adventure.  I can't wait to see if he will do Akira.  He says that if he does, he would look to Asian youths to play the roles.

Season 2

I finished Season 2 of Stranger Things.  I loved it.  It really captures the 80's  I remember driving around town on my bike.  My brother and I were latchkey kids.  Mom was at work during the day.  We would go to the beach, downtown, etc.  I would go see movies.  When my dad would visit, we would go see double features and eat spring rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant.  Now we have to wait a year for the next season.

Halloween 2017

We took the girls out.  It was as fun as a day trick or treating in Florida can be.  Main issue is mosquitoes.  We have not been cold enough to kill them off.  With the hurricane, they have more water to grow from.  I spent the time with my 4 year old on my shoulders.  She didn't want to walk.  She will have to do so soon.  She's getting heavy.  We lasted about 2 blocks.  Two of the older girls stayed out later with their friend.

Another Attack

New York had an attack.  Guess what?  Trump's lame Muslim ban would not have prevented it.  He came from a country not on his list.  Yet, he still touts it as the reason it happened.  He thinks that if it were fully allowed it would have stopped him.  He came here 7 years ago and Uzbekistan was never on his Muslim Ban list.

Contest

I went to my companies retreat.  They had a costume contest for Halloween.  I joined in.  I created a costume playing on Raiders of the Lost Ark.  I set it to insurance.  Rater of the Lost Policy.  People liked the costume.  Not enough to win.  I was proud of it.  My costume was hand made.  At least the upper executives see us participating.

Unwelcome Guest

I went out on Sunday to get the paper.  I ran into a mess.  The bear had returned.  He had knocked over the trashcan and got a bite to eat.  I had to clean it up.  Luckily, he did not hit the diaper bag.  It was still nasty.

Ready, Set, Binge!

Tomorrow Stranger Things 2 is released.  I want to dive in, but I am trying to finish Season 2 of Mr. Robot.  If you have not seen Stranger Things, check it out.  It is a blast from the past.  The directors mined movies and shows from the 80's to give us this show and it delivers.  Not only that, but they have cast some 80's actors/actresses in it.  The kids are phenomenal.

Mr. Robot Season 2

I had a day off.  I needed to be home for the children when they got home from school.  So, I started season 2 of Mr. Robot.  It starts out slow, but I am already hooked.  If you have not seen this show, you need to check it out.  It is original and not your predictable type of show.

Turn Back Time

Republicans have forgotten how the last financial disaster happened.  They are eliminating all the rules to make it easier for the banks and Wall Street to screw us over again.  I guess Trump wants to cash in on the next disaster.  I would warn all, be careful with your money.  There are few protections.  I would be wary of Wall Street tricks and bank scams that promise to make you money.  Do your research!  If you think that financial planners have your interest in mind, they may not.  I don't think there is a law that says they need to.  The politicians have already blown that away.

Game Over!

I also got to see Geri's Game.  It's a Stephen King adaptation brought to us via Netflix.  It is another great movie.  The book is one of psychological horror.  Most of the story is from the point of view of the character, who is chained to a bed.  The director did a phenomenal job.  He also directed Hush.  Both movies are worth watching.

Another Typical Orlando Day

Started off to work and was notified there was an accident on I-4.  To the backroads.  They were not much better.  I was really trying to get in to finish the decorating.  My daughter gave me another It related thing to display.  I had to set up red balloons, a Scream 2 banner and my Pin Head o lantern.  In addition, I wanted to display white yarn coming from everywhere with paperclip hooks.  In the end, I thing it turned out.

The Death of the Snowman

I guess I will just wait.  It might be out on DVD sooner than I thought.  It is not doing well at all.  Not only that, but it is getting really bad reviews. So much for Hollywood doing a good adaptation.

The Alienist

Another great book is being adapted.  I read the Alienist a long time ago.  It is a really interesting story.  TNT is adapting it.  It starts in January.  That give you time to read the book.  Caleb Carr is the author.

The Snowman

It comes out today.  The reviews seem to be bad.  I still want to see it.  The  book was really good.  It sounds like the director had to leave some of the story out of the movie.  That is the problem with adapting a book.  You only have so much time to develop a story.  I'd rather see Netflix or Amazon develop a book into a series.  I wanted that for Prey, but the author does not own the rights to his characters.  Another reason why some of Hollywood sucks.  Why buy something and hold onto it?  They have developed two movies.  Neither did very well.  It's pretty sad when they try to change a story to fit a current it actor.

Who do You Believe?

Our Moron President supposedly told the widow of a soldier that "He Knew what he signed up for".  He says he did not say it.  A friend and congresswoman of the family had heard the comment.  Who do you believe?  A person who has lied since day 1 or a congresswoman, who does not seem to have a record of lying.

Halloween Time Again!

Had a busy morning.  We are decorating our offices for Halloween.  I put a red balloon over a coworkers desk.  Sort of a IT decoration.  He understood it.  I plan for more red balloons on Monday.  I even created a ode to David S Pumpkins.  I will be bringing in a half dead florescent light.  It keeps flashing.  When people come to my office, I plan to turn on the light and play the Purge Warning.

Tooth Bandit

My daughter found a tooth in the house the other day.  It was one of her sisters from the past.  She claimed it as her own.  She set it out and told Angie that the tooth fairy needed to visit.  They did not visit.  She would remind us.  I would ask if it was hers and she would say no.  She would say it was one of her sisters.  She wanted the payment.  Eventually, it was replaced with a toy.  I told her sisters to beware becuase she might take the tooth out of their mouths.

Busy Day

I would have posted this morning.  It took forever to get to work.  I think there was one accident, but then you have idiots that either drive too erratically or just too slow.  One car had about a mile ahead of it clear.  I had to pass them.  Sometimes, you have to wait for a clearing to do so.

Blade Runner 2049

We got to see it yesterday.  It was amazing.  The film felt a lot like the first one.  The soundtrack was as good as the original, if not better.  The actors did a great job.  The special effects were fantastic.  When you sit through it, you do not even realize that it is close to 3 hours.  Some people will think so, but they probably did not like the first movie.  The way it ends, it has room for another story.  I just hope they have the opportunity to do so.  It will probably take another 20 or so years before they do.  It is well worth the cost of admission.  IMAX would probably blow you away with sight and sound.

Mindhunter

When I was younger, I discovered Silence of the Lambs.  I loved that book.  What I found interesting was how the FBI tracked down the killer.  This lead me to other books about real serial killers and John Douglas.  He wrote the book Mindhunter.  He was also consulted by Thomas Harris for Lambs, etc.  Mindhunter gives insight on how profiling came about at the FBI.  Unlike most movies and shows, it will not instantly give police the identity of a killer.  It gives them things to look for and how to categorize the type of killer.  I even wrote a paper on If Families Create Serial Killers.  It was for an English course in college.  The subject was supposed to be on families.  I have started watching the show.  It is interesting. It is available on Netflix.

Blade Runner Viewing

I shared Blade Runner with my daughter.  She wants to see the sequel.  I wanted to male sure she watched and liked the original movie.  I could see her falling asleep.  She stayed up the whole time.  It's interesting to watch again.  You see and hear things you missed on previous viewings.  Tomorrow we go to see Blade Runner 2049.

Mirror Images

Weinstein is getting raked through the coals.  At the same time, conservatives are blasting liberals because he made donations.  He was a friend of Trump's.  If you look closely, they are basicly the same.  People supporting Trump say he only says words.  I doubt it.  How may Non Disclosure Agreements and payments has he given out over the years?  No one will know.  The victims who take the settlements would not be allowed to talk.  Therefore, Trump comes off looking like an angel compared to Weinstein.  I would bet that some of the things Weinstein is accused of doing, Trump has also done.  Like they say, Birds of a Feather Flock Together.

Day Off

I took a day off yesterday.  I thought I'd have some rest time, but I was wrong.  Lots of things had to be done.  I had a short window of time to get it done before my girls got home.  I got somethings done.  As soon as they got home, they were disorganizing the things I had organized.

Fatality

Yesterday, we had a death near our house.  That is what we believe.  We have a 4 way stop.  One car decided they did not want to stop.  They were going at a high rate of speed.  They T boned another car.  Our area was closed off for hours.  They had police cars blocking the road.  A news helicopter did a fly by.  I had to take back roads to get home.  Three of the four ways was blocked off.

Sun Tunnel

Living in Florida, you'd think we have all the light in the world.  We have a room in the center of the house that does not get light.  We have to turn lights on during the middle of the day.  We decided to get a sun tunnel from a roofing company.  They put it in.  We love it.  If you have a dark room and you want natural lighting, you might want to check in on it.  Ours was done by Collis Roofing.

NFL Protest

Trump is getting to the owners.  The cowboys owner says he will bench any player who does not stand for the anthem.  This is just a start.  Soon Dear Leader will make it a law that all must stand for our anthem or jail time.  Someone needs to shine the Batsignal!  We need you Mueller!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Preview

It has come out.  December is going to be special this year.  The preview looks amazing.  Phasma lives!  It looks like a very emotional movie.  Check it out.  You can buy your tickets.  I will probably wait.

Instant Success

When the original Blade Runner came out, it was not a big success.  ET came out on top of the box office.  Over many years, Blade Runner has  gained a following.  Most people consider it a classic.  That is why we have a sequel.  I really don't think people understand these movies.  I saw some stories claiming this movie will bomb.  The reviews have been great.  Looks like we might have a little deja vu.  Will we have to wait another 30+ years for another sequel? I would hope people will go out and make this successful.  Do all movies have to be judged on their first week?

Blade Runner 2049

It's out!  Go see this movie.  I hear it is really good.  I hope to see it.  It will be by myself.  I don't think kids will understand it.  It is more of an adult film noir/sci fi movie.  I hope it does really well.  If so, they may have another story to tell.

Things I Have Learned About Property Claims

First of all, read your policy.  Make sure you know what it covers and what it does not.  Acts of God, storms, may not be covered in certain circumstances.  Know the difference between wind and flood.  Just because it is a hurricane, flooding will not fall under hurricane.  If you do not have flood insurance, you may not have coverage for water.  During a storm, be careful where you park.  If you are under a tree owned by the city, don't expect the cities insurance to cover it.  Unless you can prove that the tree was dying and the city was negligent for not removing it, it will fall under Act of God.  That means your insurance will have to cover it.  Not just cars, fences, houses, etc.  One final piece of advice.  I live in Florida.  We have lift stations that take the waste from our houses to treatment plants.  During a storm, electrical disturbances can shut them down.  When that happens, your sewer my back up into your house.  A simple cleaning may not fix the problem.  You need to have Sewer Backup insurance to cover it.  Sewers backing up are not considered flooding.

Blade Runner

When I was a kid, Blade Runner was always on the cover of Starlog magazine.  It was a movie I really wanted to see.  I enjoyed it when I was young, but I missed the meaning of the movie.  As I got older, I discovered that there were multiple versions of the movie.  Hollywood producers had screwed up the initial version by adding a narrator and a happy ending.  Later in life I got to see the director's cut of the movie.  This is the version you have to watch.  It does away with the narration and happy ending.  The questions of the movie stand out and leaves you with one big one at the end.  If you are not paying attention, you might miss it.  It is a movie that can be viewed multiple times to catch things you might have missed.  I can't wait for the sequel.

The Return of SNL

SNL has returned.  Just what we need to ridicule our awful leadership.  I hope they have another great year.  They are missing some regulars. The Trump skit was spot on.  The news has some great commentary.

David S Pumpkins Returns

Last year, SNL did a skit with Tom Hanks.  It was called Haunted Elevator.  It introduced the world to David S. Pumpkins.  This year, we an animated special.  It sounds like Christmas Carol, with a Halloween theme.  If you forget the skit, it is attached.
