Dawn of the Dead

In 1978, George A Romero released Dawn of the Dead. This was the second in his series. By this time, he and his producer had split ways. On took the titles of of the Dead, while the other the Living Dead. This movie used to freak me out as well as make me want to see it. In the 80's, I would see advertisements in magazines and at a movie theater that would play midnight movies. I loved the movie. One thing will hit you, the color of the dead. They were green. The kills still had red blood. Tom Savini did do the special effects. This movie centers on a group serviving in a mall. He was going after consumerism. The dead would gravitate there like they did when they were alive. You still have a group of different people trying to survive. In 2004, James Gunn wrote a remake with Zack Snyder directing. It was similar, but different. The one big thing is these dead run. They also did not have green skin. It was also a good movie. Dawn of the Dead 1978 Dawn of the Dead 2004
