On board the cruise, there is a jewelry store. They thought of using the cruise duck's popularity to run a promotion. Their version involves hiding a green rubber duck with the company name. It has turned in for a prize. To me, that means you would receive a cheaper prize. I wouldn't expect much, as it is a promotion. The other night, I looked down and saw the duck. We were encouraged to submit it and receive our prize. It turns out there was no prize. Instead, you get the opportunity to get $200 off a gaudy yellow diamond ring that costs $14,000. How many think they actually get any takers? I really doubt it. In legal terms, it's a bait-and-switch. I wish we had kept the duck. It had more value. They did offer things they already give out for free.
