Great Wall, Pandas, and Mcdonald's

I read the book for The Dog Stars. It was okay. It surprised me that they decided to make a big budget movie from it. To me, it was something they could have done on a smaller budget. As for the actors, they would have been better off going with up and coming versus established. This is a book that is like The Postman meets Mad Max. It would be more like Mad Max lite! They made it for $80 million+. Back in the 90's they could have done a story like this for $10 Million. I don't know where the money went. It should not have been a CGI heavy film. The book had a lot of talking until the end.

America is doing it again! We are trying to take a country's oil for private companies. I bet trump holds stock in whichever company takes the plunge. If no money goes back to the people, they will revolt again. Our country never learns from history. I know trump is not a smart man, just like Forest Gump. Every time he fails, he seems to win. I think the oil companies are worried about sinking money into their infrastructure and not getting the return they expect. It's sad how we push democracy, unless we get something out of it. Now we are perfectly content with the authoritarian goverment in place. It really should surprise anyone, though. Trump respects authoritarians.

The air conditioner person came out. Turns out it was just a little fuse that got burned out. The black stuff on the thing we looked at was just grease. They did help clean out the pipes of the other units. They said to use white vinegar to keep it clean. At least we did not need a loan to pay for the service call. AI is only so smart. Too bad it couldn't tell us to check the fuses.

So we spent the weekend in a hot house. Yesterday, things got worse. Our downstairs air conditioner decided to join it's partner. The system shut down. My wife is excellant at finding and trying to solve problems. First, our thermostat had batteries. When she opened it, the batteries had corroded. That had to be cleaned and new batteries added. Then, a common problem in air conditioners, especially in Florida, was found. The drain pain had filled to the top and that was also shutting of the machine. Usually, it goes through a pipe to drain outside. In our last house, it would just leaked through the wall and not shut off till a certain point. We thought bleach down the drain would fix the issue, but professionals say that that could harm the unit. You need to use vinegar. It breaks down the fungus/algae that clogs the line. A wet vac also helps to clear the water and the muck. She got it working without paying someone to do it. Hopefully today it will be a quick fix...

It has happened again. I woke up on Saturday and went upstairs. I noticed a little warmth in the air. Looking at the temperature gauge, I know we have an issue. It read 80. It was set at 77. We checked everything we could. I even cut bushes away from it. Angie found a plug or circuit outside. She pulled it. It was like a plug without a cord. Maybe it's a type of circuit or fuse. on the ends of the metal clips was some black powder. She took a picture and had an AI bot analyze it. The answer was not good. It said to shut off the breaker. It had been fried. It could have been a surge of power, probably from lightning. As I write this, I am sweating off the pounds. The AC company will be here Monday. This is life in Florida during the summer. You will have to have an AC company visit you at least once.

I got my Temmu order. It was described as an owl that would scare away crows, pigeons, etc. I needed to have that. I have watched a hawk around. I thought this would do the trick. Today it came in. It turned out to be a realistic picture of an owl. Only it fits in my hand. If a bird saw this, they'd laugh it it. Some would probably take it to "scare" more of their kind. I looked and the measurements were in CM and Inches. I went back to Temu for a refund. I felt the description was misleading. If you saw the picture, you'd have fell for it also!

Coyote Vs. Acme is finally coming out. I think everyone should make this movie into a huge success. The CEO of Warner Discovery decided it was not worth seeing. I grew up on the Looney Tunes. This movie is like Roger Rabbit, combining live action and traditional Looney Tunes. From what I am hearing, it is a good movie. I have always hated the fact that a studio would make a movie and shelve it for a tax write off. Why bother paying for it in the first place? I have been watching videos of Nene Royal online. This girl is amazing. She taught herself how to play the guitar. You can find videos of her in Thailand playing for people at the market. Some when she was around 10. She is playing songs I wish my daughter and I could play. I keep telling my daughter to stop worrying about chords and play around. She understands chords and where they fit in for playing a guitar. I think she could cut loose and play with the strings and figure a way that works for her. All I can say is Nene Royal is a winner either way on America's Got Talent. If she does not win, a music company will sign her. If they don't they are stupid! I can't wait for her first album to drop!

The last couple of days, we have had storms. For us, it seems like there is a forcefield around our house. We see the dark clouds. We feel the wind. We even see the sheets of rain in the distance. A grand jury in Florida found that our state government misappropriated money for their own needs. But, because no one will accept responsibility, no one will be charged. So if I commit a crime, I can say I can't remember doing it and get off? I guess if you are running for higher office, and you had installed people to protect you, then you can do anything. Trump does it all the time. I guess his mini me is learning from the master criminal. As far as I am concern, all of them should share in this ruling. The AG at the time, the Governor and his wife all share in this decision. If our state gets money from the Facebook settlement, hopefully it will go to its intended use. Not some slush fund for Republicans.

Trump is going after his base again. Will they reply Thank you may I have another? He is going out of his way to destroy the livlihoods of his base. It does not matter to him, as long as he is cashing in. Now he want to allow meat from Argentina to be sold cheap in America. Well, other countries are banning it because of strong antibiotics. He went on the news to say that Argentina ranchers are hurting. What about the country he is running? I wish these people would wake up and stop drinking the Trump kool aid!

I saw a segment from last night's show. It looks like Thailand has the talent this year. The singer Nene Royal did her rendition of Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden. She really made it her own. This woman has stage pressence, talented with a guitar and great vocal ability. I will be surprised if she does not win the whole thing. Even if she does not, she has a great future ahead of her. I for one am not a big fan of singing contest shows. For the most part, the artists just copy the original singers. They do not try to make it their own. Recently I might have talked about Maniac. The 80's movie that gave me nightmares as a kid. Funny thing is that it seemed kind of ridiculous as an adult. The special effects are top notch. Tom Savini is a master of effects. He is even one of the victims in the movie. As I sat thinking about it, one thing occurred to me. First, you have this killer and no big alerts. You'd think after bodies started turning up, the killer would not be able to walk around at night without being questioned. Then, you have his psychosis. He sees things that aren't there and even finds his end at the hands of mannequins that come to life. He is unreliable narrator. We see the movie from his point of view. You have to ask, what is real and what is fantasy. I know they director was probably not going for that direction. It is something you can see. It's like Total Recall. I find it funny that trump is going after immigrants he claims cheated to get Visas. He has cheated all his life. When called out about not paying taxes, he said it was because he was smart. I doubt that! I think there was some cheating involved. The criminal side of trump would be commending these people. Because he is who he is, he finds them as a useful distraction. He's not a big fan of people of different races and especially if they are poor. You could be an alien from outer space. If you where wealthy, trump would accept you. Especially if you paid for his club and gave him butt kissing compliments. Trump needs an enemy and immigrants are the perfect target. His base is scared they will be "replaced". As for jobs, they don't have to worry. Immigrants do jobs trumps lazy base would never do.

I'm sure it raised eyebrows when trump suggested Lindsey Graham's sister take his place. I know it did to me. I don't really know her. After seeing some of her responses to questions about foreign affairs, I am beginning to get it. She's a cypher. She does not know any of this stuff. But, she will vote the way trump wants her to. Do we even know if she had a choice? Consider this, trump had something on Graham. One day Lindsey is speaking about trump being the devil and the next he has become trump's little pet. The other day, there was a nazi demonstration in Minneapolis. They were staring up trouble. I guess Spiderman's senses told him there was trouble. Out of the blue he flies in a punches the lead nazi. You should look for the pictures. It looks like something from a comic book cover. Of course, they arrested Spiderman. They should have gone after the nazis. They are the ones inciting violence. The idiot thinks he can force all these countries to bend to his will. Canada does not think so. I'm sure those countries trump idolizes will just ignore him like a pathetic mosquito. Do you really think China and Russia are going to stop doing business with Iran? These people that run this government are the epitome of stupid. They do not know history. They do not know how other countries work. It's like Vietnam all over again. In the end, nothing much will happen to Iran, but the American people will end up footing the bill. Our "supreme" court made a ruling that said trump was okay to go after mail in voting because a lower court ruled too early. Aren't they doing the same thing and letting trump know he will be protected? This court is a travesty. It is no longer about the law. It is about protecting conservative ideas and politicians. I used to beleive that their rulings meant something. Now I do not beleive so. When they can just go in and reverse rulings other Supreme Courts ruled on, you know it is not about the law. They are being well paid from the rich donors wanting that change. I think justices should have to have stickers showing who they work for, like NASCAR. Until it is fixed, I will not beleive the rule of law is being protected!

Next Friday, Onslaught comes out to theaters. This move looks good. If you are not aware of Adam Wingard's films, you need to check them out. I think You're Next was my first movie of his. He did VHS, VHS 2, King Kong movies. If you are going to see Onslaught, you need to check out The Guest. It has a great cast and a great story that is not predictable. The late Lance Reddick was also in it. You might know him from John Wick. The first place I saw him was The Wire, that I can remember. Going off on a tangent, if you have not seen The Wire, you need to. The Guest is the first time I saw Dan Stevens. He is a great actor. Check him out in Cuckoo and Abigail.

Mcdonald's is reporting that people are running out of money. Gee, I wonder why? Do they see a downturn? Maybe they should look at their prices. I know I'd rather buy the ingrediants and make the food myself than to go out to McDonald's. That goes for most places right know. I find the food better and causes less indigestion issues. Them declaring this is so hypocritical. Maybe try lowering prices. If people are still not coming, then it's a real issue. Right know every corporation is nickeling and diming consumers to death. Anyways, didn't the CEO have an issue with his own company's food? He was taking nibbles off of a burger like he was a vegetarian!

Jeffries met with the president's son in law to see how they can work together if the Democrats win. Why? Is he signalling that the Democrats will continue letting trump do what he wants? That is the way it feels to me. You have 3 choices. 2 are the same. Vote Republican and you know they will do nothing to trump. Vote Establishment Democrat and nothing will happen and they will let trump continue his bad policies and inhuman attacks on the American people. They will do this hoping that people will vote a Democrat into the presidency. Of course, they are not factoring in that people may also vote out the politicians who do nothing to stop trump. The 3rd choice is Socialist Democrats. They will actually try to make changes in favor of the people and not the rich and corporations. They will need enough to take control. As far as I am concerned, Jeffries and Schumer need to go. We need fresh and innovative leadership. These two are killing the party.

Can you believe that South Park predicted our war with Canada? Who would have thought it! For the makers of the series, they were probably shooting for the most friendliest country we could go against. One that does not initiate wars or really have any conflicts in the world. That is until now! What happened? Did they close down one of draft dodgers hotels or just force his name off a building? I'm sure he's probably being guided by oligarchs that will cash in. You know there has to be some dig our infantile president did not like! He's so thin skinned he needs a bigger bunker at the White House. I bet McDonald's has agreed to set up in the bunker. He probably needed more space for his depends diapers. Storing them can take up space. I have a disabled daughter, I can tell you it does. I can not afford to build a bunker to store them in. Republicans think we should allow data centers. This is like the Terminator movies. They want to build the infrastructure that will destroy us! They jack up electric bills, they steal our drinking water, and they take up farm land. I really don't see the importance of the centers. If they want power, they should pay up front for it. they could also use solar and wind. As for water, let them use sewer water or our treated water not used human use. In Coastal states, build desalination plants. These rich arrogant people should be forced to help the societies they are making money off of.

We are going into the mid terms. Republicans are fine with forever wars. no taxes for the rich, protecting rich PEDOPHILES, and with Americans struggling. They tell us it was the previous administration. They have had full control of this country. What has that gotten us? It has gotten trump and his bastard children rich! Oligarchs are also getting rich and destroying this country!

trump wants his name on a ship. Like usual, he wants to teplace a black man who gave his life for our country while protecting his ship mates! Now talk about DEI! A rich, silver spoon, do nothing wants to replace an actual American hero? The politicians need to stop him. This is stealing valor!

Jeffries is at it again. He is defending a member of Congress who is one of the most racist I have ever seen. He calls for the destruction of Muslims. But, that is okay with Jeffries. He is taking that AIPAC money. It blinds him to all of this. Jeffries is turning in Fetterman. When will he start voting for trump's agenda?

King trump has told the peasants of America that we must endure higher prices. Of course, he and his rich friends are exept from this. They are actually making money off of our hardships. Do you think trump is giving anything up? If that happened, he would be the last person in this country to do so. Remember, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. You know he is making money off of EVERY decision he makes. When is his wife going to tell us we can all eat cake? It should be any day now! I hate seeing these political commercials where republicans are sucking up to him and telling us they will bring down prices and end wars. Trump's the reason for both! They just want to go to Washington to cash in!

I turned into Facebook and now I am seeing ads for China. Guangzhou was prominently displayed. The ads show a place that has changed since we last were there. There were also places we did not see. When you go for an adoption, they limit the sightseeing. I'm ready to go back to sightsee. The only problem is we don't have the money to afford it. Plus we would have the logistics of meds and other things the girls would need. I know we can get some of it in China. My daughters do take some liquid meds. I know how airports are with liquids. Getting back to the ads, they make it look very interesting. I think they have enhanced buildings and lighting. They showed the zoo. We never went there. We did visity the Beijing Zoo. Thats was really big and well kept. The animals looked like most animals stuck in a zoo. They also showed an underground river. That would have been neat to visit. A church was shown. I tried working on my garden. It has been severely neglected. Weeds were as tall as I was. I thought I could at least pull the weeds. It lasted about 20 minutes. It is so hot and humid out there. Once again, I can not understand why people come to Florida in the summer and August is the worst month for heat and humidity. Hurricanes tend to mature during this period, also. The parks do not have much shade and lots of people. Do you know politicians actually voted to allow employers of people that work outside the ability to deny them water, rest, and shade? I could never do it. More power to the people who can handle it.

Nixon is looking on the US from where ever he is smiling. He's thinking trump is doing what I should have done. If he had so many yes men, Watergate would have been a minor inconvenience. Plus, Nixon could have been making all that money through bribes, payoffs, and just downright stealing. With this AG, trump has his ultimate protector. He will go after his enemies. He will probably help to rig the upcoming election in trump's favor. Looks like trump and his cronies studied what went wrong with Nixon and fixed those problems.

It's that time of year in Florida. Every park has some sort of scare theme. Disney gas a kiddie version. Sea World and Universal do adult scares. Basically, you pay to have people jump out at you. I just think it would be boring. I really don't know how this is scary. I think the scariest part is how much money they charge for a person to walk through haunted houses.

Since I did not get to see the movie, I had some free time. The blood bank reminded me it was time for my draining. I looked up a location. Then, both my daughters wanted to go. I did not know if they would let them wait in the bus, but we tried. I was hoping to get tickets for the movie. As soon as I start, they tell me I will have to wait. They took my blood and I got a shirt. They did question if they were giving. I told them they were with me. The shirt was actually nicer than past shirts. It had a summer vibe to it.

I was at the theater when we got our upcoming schedule showing Gloria. Unlike today, I could not just pull it up on the internet to research. When I finally saw the preview, I knew it would be a failure. Yesterday, I pulled up both previews. Believe me, the 1980 version is the superior version. Both are about a mob linked woman protecting a kid from the mob. One plays it seriously. The other looks like a God awful comedy. It's like if Hallmark had done the remake. Check out both trailers. They are on Youtube! Tell me if I am wrong!

I worked in a movie theater for ten years. You'd think I would know better than waiting till one day before to buy tickets for a big summer movie. That is what I did. Very few seats remained. Not only that, it looked like only one theater had it, maybe teo. One was 3d. that means mote per ticket. It irratates me that they only had two daytime shows. Summer is not fully over. Summer films are still coming out. I think I see another reason theaters are failing. We eould have dummer times until September.

Be careful leaving mowers and other heay yard equipment out doors. We discovered the hard way. Our tractor was sitting in the yard. We went to start it up and it did not start. We found out that rats like wiring fibers. They have done some damage. If you have equipment, get some devices that will keep them away. I know Temu has sonic type motion detectors. You need to protect your equipment. Looks like the BB gun and I are going out this weekend!

I did more research on By Any Means. It looks like they take a lot of liberties. One thing that bothers me is that it looks like a historical buddy cop movie. The gangster in it had a really bad history of being an evil man. My biggest issue is believing that the FBI would send a black agent into Mississippi during that time period. That is about as believable as dinosaurs on screen. If they had sent him, I think that he and the mobster would have disappeared.

I am finally going to see this movie. I waited a couple of weeks. Hopefully, people will start dwindling down. My daughters want to see this movie. I did read that the Dinosaur movie coming out today is actually good. I guess I am surprised, but not enough to pay for it. It still has CG dinosaurs. Maybe one day it will be on and I will watch it. I just don't know if I would waste my time. I am glad to see an original story get some notice. I will wish it well. If you want to see an entertaining movie, The House at the End of the Block might be worth your time.

Trump is at it again. When a court shuts him down, he ignores it. I really wish his "Constitutional" party would tell him to stop trying to be above the law. He has done this his whole life. Usually, he could get away with it because people could not afford to fight his lawsuits. Now he is the one in charge of our country. He does not like following the rules that our fore fathers set up for him. Not only that, he has shady lawyers and directors that scour old and out dated rules and laws to make it fit what he wants to do to people, like equating the US Citizenship to people born in the US to slaves after the Civil War. If that were the case, why did all those white racist politicians not change it in the 40's to 50's? It's only a problem now? It's important to fragile white people that beleive they are being "replaced". Too bad they are so stupid as to realize that the oligarchs they support are trying to replace them, with technology. ...

I went upstairs to get a bite to eat. As soon as I did, a wave of heat hit me. We have 2 air conditioners. One for the bottom floor and one for the main level. It's nice and cool down here. I ask my wife if she felt the heat. She said no because she had just come in. Of course, we are having one of those hot Florida days. I fed the animals this morning so I could avoid the heat. We are fortunate to have found a good air service. She called and even said we have not had it serviced. He said we did not need to. It's only a couple of years old. He said he would send someone out. That is great. In the past, it would be an emergency service and they would have gotten on us to have it serviced or just told us the warranty was voided. I tell you it is hard to find good companies for service things. If you find one, hold on to them.

So trump's propaganda spokesperson is stepping down. Get ready for the next one! They will be worse than she was. It will be like Spicer on Steroids. They will have to show overwhelming devotion for telling lies to protect dear leader junior. I could not even imagine. Maybe one of the psycophants at Fox "news". Or one of his loyal kool aid drinkers at his clubs. Probably one of their female daughters.

Trump has done it again. He has given the internet something to meme about. His latest has been a great boon for them. Escaping to a plane on a food cargo container. They write themselves. Look for them. I have seen a couple. One showing him handing out snacks from the Stewards cart on a plane. One where he is holding a container of Orange Chicken. One shows an orange trail behind a container going to a plane. People can be very imaginative. I'm surprised he is not suing the paper for revealing his "daring" escape from a situation he did not set up.

 Our secretary of the state is calling out birthright citizenship.  Well guess what?  His parents were illegals when he was born in our country.  Does that mean ICE should deport him?  His parents did commit a crime, just like they say others are doing.  It's so sad how our country has gotten.  We are running off doctrines of racists and calling it normal.  Trump was selling housing to Russians for the same purpose.  I guess when they pay you millions, you can look the other way.  As for the secretary's parents, I bet they had money.  

 So, this title sounds like something trump would say. His anonymous "everyone says".  Well, Wisconsin had a primary yesterday.  The Democratic Socialist lost.  The headlines I saw this morning are all about the upset win.  Then, I look at the numbers and she only lost by a little over a 1,000.  Is that an upset?  Maybe for establishment Democrats.  I see a close race.  I still see the problems the establishment refuses to recognize.  People want change.  They do not want status quo and politicians trying to sing kum by ya with republicans who have refused to work with Democrats.  The party really needs to work on its strategy.  If they do not and do like they always do, they will turn off people.  They will vote for the next radical that has a crazy vision, even if it is all lies.  

 I saw the story that trump had to escape Turkey by a catering cart.  Now, was it a McDonald's cart?  He says he was escaping Iranians, but I'm wondering if he was just too hungering and lazy to walk on the plane.  So, they called McDonald's and arranged a pick up.  Doesn't he realize how weak this makes him?  I thought he was the "big" man who stood up to his enemies!  Nope, just another bunker dweller hiding from the public.  I guess he only stands tall when he organizes the situation!  

 You'd think we would have learned from Vietnam to beware of insurgent situations or other areas we know nothing about.  Iraq we had insurgency because we failed to learn about the situation of all the people and religions.  In Afghanistan, the people we helped deter the Russians knew how to deter the US as well.  Now Iran.  Iraq tried to take them over.  After many years, they gave up.  Israel and our country have done plenty to no avail.  Then we get someone who thinks that we can bomb them into compliance.  As you can see, it has failed.  If you think Iran will give up because of sanctions, you know nothing.  They know that the US will cry uncle before they will.  They live hardship.  It will be nothing to them.  One day, we will have educated people running the government again.  If we go into a conflict, hopefully, they will do the research.

 I made the mistake of buying a salad from WalMart three weeks ago.  I saw it was Taylor, but I thought it was not including the salad bowls.  My daughter paid for it.  Diarrhea for 3 to 4 days.  I stopped buying them.  I went to Aldi and she has been fine.  One thing I have noticed is that the salads at Walmart have a lot of yellow tag reductions.  Now there will be more with the latest news of salmonella.  Maybe instead of trying to sell it, even at a reduction, Walmart should just pull it and tell them to fix their problems.   

 I have caught the cooking bug lately.  Mainly because it cost so much to eat out.  Also, my wife has issues with the food not agreeing with her.  After some of the meals I have made, I have noticed that I do not feel bloated or get heartburn.  I think it is because of the cheap products these companies use to make their foods.  Yesterday, I made McRib copy cat sandwiches.  They were easy to make, everyone loved them, and not regret after eating them.  I did the same for spaghetti.  I made my own sauce and bought Italian spaghetti.  It tasted better and no regrets.  If eating out bothers you, look up the recipe on the internet.  Someone will have a recipe out there.  

 Today, my kids go back to school.  For that, I am glad.  I can imagine sitting around the house with nothing to do.  I wish I could spend more time at home during the summer.  It is my busiest time at work. Plus, it's Florida!  It's too hot to do anything outside.  Not to mention, everything is getting expensive.  Even the beaches, due to parking fees.  I still do not know why people come here during the summer.  You might say theme parks, but I will tell you they are hot and expensive.  You have to be upper class to go to most of them.  Unless you want to go into debt.  

 I love this time of year.  I get the urge to cook.  This morning I made an Apple Crumb donut.  I had found the recipe on Facebook.  It actually turned out.  Usually when I try to make crumbles, it does not turn out.  Up next, McRib sandwiches.  My wife loves it.  Of course McDonald’s only does it for special occasions.  I think the one I make will be better for me.  

 Get ready for more bogus cases against trump's perceived enemies!  The spineless politicians voted in his personal lawyer.  Now he can get paid by our tax dollars to still be his personal lawyer.  If Democrats thought this mid term was going to be hard, it just got harder.  Just imagine all the bogus investigations into vote "rigging" if a democrat or non trump pick gets elected.  I hope the states are ready to fight to protect voting.  This year will be important to vote.  It may not matter.  Musk is pledging to help.  He helped in the last election.  Now one of his kids moms is saying he rigged the election for trump and the republicans.  Who will investigate?  Spineless Democrats won't do it because of the Russia allegation from the first election.  Who will protect the American People!  I have no hope that our attorney general will do it.  He's trumps whipping boy and will do whatever he wants him to do...

 Seems like our politicians are giving our country away to the rich.  They have no spine to stand up for the American people.  Just watch, if one party loses power and the other actually uses or borrows a spine, watch the spineless come to life to defend the rich and their traitorous administration.  I bet there will be at least one Democrat to fight for trump and a couple will fight for status quo.  The two leaders will say wait two more years and hopefully we will regain the White House.  Others will be chastised for actually going after the waste and criminal laundering of our tax dollars into a few pockets.  This is the worst administration of my lifetime.  Not only that, these people below are just yes men for trump.  

 We have one of those electronic door locks.  When you close the door, the lock will engage after a second or two.  Someone left our house last night.  Let me describe our area.  It's rural to a point.  Up the road is civilization.  We have to worry about night critters and predators.  It was also storming.  One good gust of wind and the door will fly open.  That is exactly what happened.  The next morning it was discovered.  My wife checked the camera footage to make sure nothing came in the open door.  On the camera a black shape appeared and seem to disappear.  It could have been a raccoon.  I think it was too big to be the cat.  Luckily, nothing came in the door.  But my wife thinks it is other worldly.  It did not come in because it was not invited.  What did we do?  Did we buy a haunted house?  Stay tuned!

 I really want to see this.  I don't know when my break is coming.  I don't have to worry about competition knocking it out of theaters.  The new movies do not strike an interest for me.  A new generation love story and a raunchy comedy.  The comedy is based on a series and two other movies.  If I find a break this weekend, I my try to watch Obsession.  Someone told me that they liked it.  I know there are a couple of late summer movies coming.  I really don't care for another Jurassic Park rip off or another video game movie.  I was working at a theater when the first Street Fighter came out.  I just don't like movies based on a video game.  Maybe September will have some better movies.  

 I'm sitting at my computer listening to Youtube.  I am too cheap to buy any plan.  Maybe poor is a better term.  Then, McDonalds comes on with a cheery spokesperson.  She goes on about this great "value" meal.  It's only $8 dollars!  Can you believe it?  So, are they trying to tell us that is cheaper than a burger meal at Chili's or some other sit down restaurant.  When I look at "value" meals that used to be $3 to $4 dollars, I am now seeing close to $10.  A regular meal is closer to $20 at a fast food place.  The thought of spending that much of food of poor quality makes me sick.  I'd rather buy the ingredients and make a healthier version of the same thing I can buy.  They think there recipes are top secret.  Anyone can find a copy cat recipe on the internet.  I made spaghetti sauce and use Italian spaghetti the other day.  It did not make us feel bloated or sick.  I wonder why?  Well, I did l...

 Our weird Florida weather continues.  We have started getting daily rains.  This is what usually happens in May to June.  I wonder if hurricanes will start getting worse in October instead of September.  I am glad I did not start a garden this year.  I do not think it would have done well.  Either there would have been smaller and thinner yields of the plant would have baked in the sun.  I do have a plan to create a garden area with shade.  I have bought a couple of shades from Temu and some watering things.  Stay tuned.  I really need a green thumb.  

 I find collecting to be a scam.  I collected baseball cards, comics, posters, books, etc.  Now that they have aged, I look to sell them.  As I am finding out, the collectable market has put roadblocks in to prevent me from selling some things at a high price.  That is unless I pay some company hundreds of dollars to get rated.  Why should I pay a company to do what a person can clearly do themselves?   Why is it these companies can profit like this?  I think it's so the rich can buy these items off people cheap.  Then, they can get them "evaluated" and resell them at a higher price.  These people know that people that collect are not rich.  They collect as an investment hoping that one day their collectable will be worth something.  If I gave advice on collecting, I would say don't!  Just like the appraisal companies, it's a scam.  These appraisal companies are a joke.  You have to pay them hundreds of doll...

 The AIPAC woman lost her election.  I guess she should have explained to voters how she was going to help them versus sending money to another country.  Establishment Democrats don't get it.  They act like progressives are promising the world.  I don't see why our tax dollars should not benefit Americans.  What about free healthcare?  Stop making healthcare a capitalist cash crop.  If companies are given a chance of saving a life or letting a person die, they will say it is cheaper to let us die.  They do not care about people.  They care about bonuses.  Our money could be spent to make life better for Americans.  Instead we spend more than every country in the world on weapons.  That money buys politicians to keep the money flowing.  If you think AI is going to help, in America, companies are using it to save on employing people or just down right firing them.  Look at Disney.  They had one of the biggest ...

 So Sony says they will not continue their alternative Spider-Man movies.  Why?  Because viewers don't really want them.  I would beg to differ.  They would probably want them if they were not so bad.  They are obviously a set up for a bigger movie with Spider-Man.  These are supposed to be villains.  They seemed more like anti villains.  What were they thinking?  All of a sudden, these sort of good guys are going to get together to go after Spider-Man?  I didn't see that.  Luckily, I stayed away because their reputation was so bad.  Sony needs to create better stories and not AI looking crap.   

 When I was younger, my brother and I would attend the Boys Club.  It was fun.  We got to do things and it kept us from wandering Oceanside streets while my mom worked.  The would do trips to parks and baseball games.  I even got autographs one time.  Sometimes, they would do a sleepover at the club.  Those were fun.  They'd have food, games and movies.  I got to see some classics.  One movie I remember was called Shogun Assassin.  It was a Samurai exploitation movie.  It had some graphic violence.  What I did not know until later in life was that Shogun Assassin was a mixtape movie.  Some studio had taken this Japanese movie, of which there were multiple, and cut them down to one movie.  That movie series went under Lone Wolf and Cub.  It is the story of a Samurai whose family and master are killed.  He roams the land with his toddler son seeking revenge, while offering his services to people in need....

 My daughter has a plumbing fixation.  She listens to Youtube tutorials on what a plumber does.  I told her she needed a plumbing license for her to mess around with plumbing.  She asks for things like plumbers table and wax seals.  Unfortunately, she learned where the wax seal was located.  So, she kicked over the toilet to get to it.  We had to replace it and make it more secure.  Prior to that, it did not take much to knock it over.  I was thinking about that.  I decided to look up toy plumbing items.  They actually have thinks.  I guess it's for doll houses.  We can buy her mini toilets, sinks, etc.  Then, we can use them as a reward to do other things like taking her meds.  

 School is getting ready to start in America.  The GOP is welcoming kids by taking away their lunches, their free schools, etc.  Today I read that trump wants to do away with Head Start.  Why?   Well, he said it.  He likes stupid people.  For him, they are easier to control.  They believe his lies without question.  An educated person would question him, investigate his many crimes, and not put up with with holding the Epstein files.  The GOP is truly the party of the rich.  They are not the party of families.  They are not the party of fiscal responsibility.  They are the party of endless wars and enriching their rich donors, as wells as themselves!  At this rate, they want to turn the US into a Christian Taliban state guided by the laws of the bible.  Sounds like Christian Sharia!  

 At a time where your party should have an easy route to victory, Democrats have found a way to mess it up.  The older wing of the party, most likely controlled by the rich, want status quo.  Why?  Are they saying they are like Republicans, but only slightly better?  They have been so weak and quiet since trump took over and started dismantling our system.  He even openly brags about all the money he is grifting.  Legacy Democrats are silent!  I guess they can't wait to take office to do the same as trump.  Younger Democrats talking about helping people.  Getting better healthcare.  A cleaner environment.  Not funding warmongers.  What do they get in return?  Attacks from Republicans calling them communists.  Even the older wing is distancing themselves.  I bet they screw everything up just to make sure they stay in power.  Another reason there needs to be a limit to serving.  I am tired of those t...

 Heading to work today, my wife calls.  There is an accident where I am heading.  It is a car on fire and it is blocking 3 lanes.  Great!  As I am thinking about where I should get off, red lights caught my attention.  Too late!  I started towards the rightmost lane.  That was the exit for the road they told everyone to go to.  Well, it wasn't moving.  I look to the left and it is the only lane actually moving.  By the time I got to where the accident was, there was nothing there.  They had cleaned it up and disappeared.  Almost like that movie IROBOT.  

 My children are getting ready to go back.  I can't wait.  I know they get bored sitting around the house.  They really don't go out much.  I wish we had a place for them to go during the summer where they could play and do things.  Knowing my children, they would sit in the corner.  One wouldn't even leave the house.  I am hoping she goes back to school this year.  We'll have to wait and see.  Although she is progressing in some areas, she still hates leaving the house.  

 We had a slightly cooler weekend.  I know the chickens and rabbits were happy.  I was still humid out there.  I did some work and came back inside drenched.  It was not raining, yet.  We did get a shower or two.  I was minimal.  I am glad of.  I am trying to move dirt that the rain has washed away.  I think I am making progress.  I know I have a drain pipe to repair.  Once things cool down, we are redoing the chickens.  I don't think the Guinea's will like it.  They love their freedom.  

 My daughter and I are still learning guitar.  I like doing it.  My fingers do not hurt as much.  I feel that I am getting the chords.  Do I hear songs? No!  I sort of hear different notes. It is also interesting watching others play it in videos. When they use chords, I can tell the chords.  They do pick a lot.  That is a difficult process, but fun to try.  It does take practicing everyday.  Some days I am just too tired.  I just wish I could get my daughter to move her fingers.  She wants me to do it.  

 I love this movie.  It has a great story, actors and effects.  It does not surprise me.  Dan O’bannon was a writer.  This guy helped create Alien and Return of the Living Dead.  One thing I noticed was this movie is still relevant.  They could easily continue this story. A corrupt president could restart the program.  They could dream up not so futuristic tech to add to the copter.  They could have an actor like Austin Butler play a grown up version of Roy Scheider’s girlfriend’s son.  On top of that, AI could be programmed for surveillance and attacks.  One that is programmed to go after the government’s enemies and people not of the same color of the president.  Practical effects are a must.  Do not have an AI powered copter.  Stealth already did that.  It was lame!  They also need a few modified copters for better dog fights!  

 I think one of the coolest signatures I got was from Thomas Harris.  He is the author of Silence of the Lambs.  I wrote him after reading the book.  I asked what Lector would do next.  I even asked for an autograph ed picture.  He said he did not have pictures, but drew a picture of what he looked like.  In addition to that, I wrote John Douglas from the FBI.  He as a consultant to Thomas Harris.  I was inquiring about books on serial killers.  He responded.  He suggested a book and signed the letter.  I also got Jack Nicholson’s autograph.  It took over a year to get.  

 When I was younger, I used to write actors, authors, and cartoonists that I like.  Sometimes, I would be successful.  Sometimes, I would get an auto pen signature.  I never payed for them.  I did send a self addressed stamped envelope.  Nowadays, you can attend a convention and pay for that privilege.  In some ways I get it.  You can talk to them directly.  You see them do it. At the prices they charge, what other value does it have?  I could not spend that kind of money for one signature.  I really wouldn’t know what to say that a million others have already said.  I do like that it gives actors that do not always make the big bucks a chance to make money.  It also lets fans see a person that might have been in a bunch of their favorite movies but not the main star.  Those actors are more impressive to me.  They stand out, even if you don’t know their name!  If you had a chance to meet someone like this, w...
