Ed Gein's Influence on Horror Movies

By -
Some might wonder who is Ed Gein? If you watch Netflix, they did a Monster season based on his crimes. Two big movies were influenced by his crimes: Pyscho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ed Gein was a quiet man who was raised by a domineering mother. When she died, he took to raiding graves and killing women. He would use their skin and bones for decorations and for making a mask. He was not a prolific killer. It did not take the town long to come knocking on his door, where they found a victim hung from the ceiling being dressed like game. Before the movie, Psycho was a book. From that book, Alfred Hitchcock made Psycho. This movie was released in 1960. It follows a woman who steals from the bank she works at. When she checks into the Bates Motel, she meets Norman Bates. It is a really good movie. If you have not seen this movie, you do not want to know more. That is the way Hitchcock had it released. If you were late to the theater, they would not let you buy a ticket. Psycho DVD Buy Now The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in 1974. It follows a group of teens on a road trip to check on a homestead in rural Texas. Here, they meet some strange and dangerous characters. I would say this movie is a trip into madness. Watch the way it was shot. If it looks sweltering, it was. The actors said it was a nightmare to film. This movie is a low budget film. You would have a hard time seeing it. They did do many remakes. None were as good as the original. Leatherface, the killer, was scarier in the original. Later, he went from his 1974 stature to a steriod taking bad guy. My guess is in the remakes, his character lifted weights when not killing people. Maybe that would explain his psychosis. It's roid rage. Check out the original. Amazon has a great deal on the 4K of the original. The other prices for lesser DVDs seem high. I really hate when they do that to older movies. Forgot to mention is this film feels like a reality show. There is very little to no gore in this film. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4K Buy Now

Crazy Chickens

I'm sitting in my office at home.  All I can hear is the sound of chickens squawking. I think they are trying to encourage me to feed them.  I know when I go out, it will be like Ace Ventura and the animals flocking to him.  I do know they will squawk before laying an egg.  The roosters are non-stop with their calls!

I Feel Lost

By -
This week, my phone died.  I could not believe it.  I was looking on it and it goes black.  I have my wife look at it.  She gets it to come back to life and updates it to the Icloud.  I start looking at it again.  Then, it dies again.  This time it is for good.  She called TMobile.  They wanted me to enter passwords.  I could not remember them.  They were on the phone.  Eventually, I used my Ipod to access something.  Because it was under a plan we have, I am able to get a new phone.  Only catch is is that it is the same model, Iphone 11.  If I wanted the newest phone, I would have to pay $300.  I went with the same model.  Now I just need to get it.  I find myself lost without my phone.

Stock Manipulation

Trump is at it again.  Using his power to manipulate stocks.  Yesterday, while stocks were sinking, he announced that the war was almost over.   I doubt that.  He did this to play with the market.  Gas even went down a little.  He probably wishes gas could increase, and the market would do the same.  His family bought in early because of insider information.  I guess corruption is allowed as long as you don't cross the king.  Then, he'd have his puppet in DOJ go after them.
