This is a blog to document our journey to China to adopt our 4 children from China, 1 from America. Now our 5 from China.

Child Number 2
It looks like Miller has started his Final Solution. Jailing kids was not enough. Now they are starting to die. How is this? You'd think a country as rich as ours would make sure to keep prisoners healthy and safe. We are not Russia or North Korea, yet. Hope some heads roll on this one. Hope the families are compensated.

Death of a Child
At the border or boarder (As Trump spells it), a child died. They say it's because of dehydration. Who knows? Hopefully, they will do an autopsy. I think our government should make if a felony for Border Patrol agents to dump jugs of waters in the desert. They have footage of them doing just that. Not only that, they should be more responsive to the needs of those they arrest. She was a child! These Nazis could care less!

Waste of Food
I recently went on a cruise. I'll write another post later about the cruise. The one thing I wanted to bring up was food waste. First of all, the cruise lines have employees from around the world. A lot come from third world countries. The money they make goes back to families. I was noticing that at the buffets and even dinners, lots of food was wasted. People just grab and grab. They don't care how much they waste. It's probably because they paid a lot for the cruise. I was thinking it's really sad to see so much wastage and the people that have to dump that food probably see that much food as a luxury. Day in and day out, they have to toss food. I wish cruise lines would find ways to curb some of that wastage. Encourage people to grab only the food they can eat. In dinner halls, only allow one meal at a time. I don't think they are really worrying about it. If they could cut down on wastage, it will save them money. They would have more food to go around and they will not have to pay as much to dispose of the food waste. These companies should be thinking of green opportunities. It may cost a little up front, but it may save lots in the end.
Florida Chill
I woke up this morning and there was a chill in the air. I had to bundle up. That only happens on occasion in Florida. By the weekend, I'll be back in shorts. There was even a bit of frost on the roof of my car. Today, my daughter did not want to get shoes or a jacket on. She can be a stubborn child. I think it gets worse if she is coming down with something.

HULU
I finally broke down and subscribed to HULU. It was .99 a month for a year. I was looking at all they had to offer. I like what I have seen. We'll see how often it gets updated. I look forward to some of their shows, like Castle Rock and Mr. Mercedes. I think they do the latter. They did have Downsizing. I have been waiting to see that one. The library did not pick it up. Don't know why.
Thanksgiving Cruise
So we took the kids on a cruise during the Thanksgiving week. It was fun. You do forget that it is fall time down south. It was hot. Everyday I heard reggae music. All you think about is summer. I did see some Christmas decorations, but not many. I got back home and on the radio was Christmas music. Oh yeah, it's that time of year. The ports were nice. The shops were all the same. I'd rather have hand made things or products from the country. We did buy some Grand Turk Rum. I wonder if the people that do make things only try to sell during the summer months? Next up, 14 day cruise. We'll have to save for that one. My children loved the trip. Carnival did a great job making everyone feel welcome. My 5 year old had her good days and bad days. The bad days were not that bad. The one day she did cut loose, she was tired. I will say one thing, don't bother with Thanksgiving food on a cruise. It was awful. They turkey was flat, not bland, but actually flat. It was more like a processed meat with gravy. The Sweet Potato casserole was not what you'd expect. I think the only thing they got right was the stuffing.
Giving Tuesday - Bethel China
I know I have not been very productive. I have been on a cruise for a week. I will start blogging again. On this giving Tuesday, I would like to offer a group for you to consider. That group is Bethel China. They take in Seeing Impaired Orphans and prepare them for life or adoption, in China. I have two daughters that would have benefited from their services. I was lucky enough to donate some money to them this year. Please keep them in mind or just share with your friends and family.

Concert
Listening to the radio last night. I heard One Republic is coming to town. My daughter likes them. I looked up the prices. They started at 87.00. One reason not to live in a town with big theme parks. No groups like coming here and the ones that do charge more than most can afford.

Charity Donation
I went to my annual retreat with my employer. They decided to give money to charities in our names. They were going to draw 40 names. I actually was picked. I named Bethel China as my charity. They help blind orphans in China. Please look them up. I have 2 daughters that probably would have benefited from their program.

Halloween Sequels
I had the TV on last night. They had one of the Halloween sequels. It was awful. Poor Donald Pleasence. He probably did it for the money. He looked like a tired version of the first movie. I think the only two people should watch is the first one and the current one in theaters. All others are throw away movies done for money. At least the current sequel had something to say.

A Star is Born
Got to see A Star is Born the other day. It was really good. Lady Gaga does an amazing job. Andrew Dice Clay plays her father. The music was believable and good. It is kind of a tear jerker. If you like that kind of movie, go see it. I bet there will be some nominations.

Halloween 2018
If you like horror from the 70's - 90's, you need to go see Halloween. 70's/80's are more of my taste, but there are some from the 90's, Misery to name one. This current Halloween is a true sequel to the first movie. It deals with the aftermath of traumatic attack. It has jump scares and great dialogue. The music is from John Carpenter. He also produced the movie. This movie reminded me why I love some kinds of horror movies.

Halloween Approaches
Halloween the day and the movie are approaching. I remember seeing the movie when I was younger. I loved it. John Carpenter knows how to put together a horror movie. I wish more directors would follow his movies. Netflix should hire him to do a movie for them. He still wants to direct. I'd love to see another Thing. With global warming and the rush for oil rights, they could do a follow up the to Kurt Russel movie. He could even be called in. You'd definitely would need John Carpenter's input. Until then, we have Halloween this Friday. I look forward to it. I have one daughter who wants to see it.

Movies
I got to see Night School, The Predator and Venom recently. All were enjoyable. I can't wait for a Venom sequel. I hope they allow a Predator sequel. One with Arnold would be preferable. If you want a good comedy, check out Night School. Next up, Halloween.

Hurricane Florence
For those in the path, stay safe. I know what it is like to ride these out. Hope you have your supplies and are ready for the aftermath. If using a generator, please use it outside. They are not meant to be used in the house or garage.

Labor Day Weekend
It's another Labor Day Weekend. I have a Birthday approaching, but I do not think we will do much this year. Two daughters are in hospitals. I don't want to celebrate without everyone being there. Maybe, I will celebrate in late September. Just hope the Hurricanes stay away. Our season is heating up. I might check out Searching at the theaters. I was hoping for Crazy Rich Asians for a third showing, but the person I want to bring is out for the weekend.

Crazy Rich Asians 2
So, this week, they announced plans to go ahead with a sequel. There are 3 books in the series, so, this is not just a money grab. I am glad to see them reacting so quickly. This weekend, I actually went to see it a second time. It is that good! I brought my 16 year old. She wanted to see it. She did find it weird that dad took her to a Rom Com. I love most movies.

Sleep in an ER
I got the opportunity to sleep in an ER. I know know what my wife has gone through all those times she did so. Sorry for not showing my appreciation. It is not fun and very uncomfortable. I slept in a recliner, after I tried to sleep on the floor. Show respect for all parents that have to spend time in the ER with loved ones. It is not an easy thing to do. Plus, I am clueless when it comes to the children's insurance.

Life Issues
I'm back. Hopefully, I will post more. This summer has been extremely busy. Now I have family issues on top of work. One daughter is in the hospital and has been for many weeks. Another is having coping issues. I guess it's great that they are not worried about the state our country is in. Some of my girls are more concerned with reputation and shows.
Friday, August 17, 2018
Go See Crazy Rich Asians
Crazy Rich Asians is in theaters. Go see this movie. If you like romantic comedies, this is your movie. They are already increasing the predictions of opening weekend. It really was a fun movie.
Monday, August 13, 2018
The Meg
I took some of my daughters to see The Meg. It was a fun movie. It has humor and suspense. This is the last big film of the summer. Hollywood will start releasing the movies they thought would not be able to compete in the middle of Summer. Crazy Rich Asians would have been a sleeper. I hope people will still go see it.
Death of a Garden
Driving home the other day, I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach. The gardens I created and tried to nurture were being ripped from the ground. As I turned in, I saw the carnage. Bodies of cacti were everywhere. I can't even say they were ripped from the ground. Some looked as if they were hacked from the ground. They killed all of my pineapple plants. It was a devastating sight to see. Saturday, I got on my work clothes and I tried to rescue as much as I could. I thought I did a pretty good job. I did have an unfortunate run in with an ant nest. I did not know it until I felt something on my arm. I looked at it and I was covered in fire ants. I swatted, I tore off my gloves, and I ran inside. I took some allergy meds. The next day, I had a trail of fire blisters. They appear after a bite from a fire ant.

Blindspotting
You must see this movie. It is a comedy/Drama. I would emphasize the Drama. It was a very good movie. The main stars are also the writers of this movie. It has to do with race, Oakland and stereotypes.

Teen Titans, Go!
I got to see Teen Titans, last night. It was a fun movie. If you get stuck taking your kids, don't feel bad about it. They parody super hero films. They even have catchy tunes. Nicolas Cage finally gets to be Superman! I enjoyed it so much, that I might try to find the cartoons to watch.
Thursday, July 26, 2018
Mission Impossible
Tonight, I am going to check out the new Mission Impossible. I hear it is really a good movie. I have enjoyed all of the movies. My next three days, I am planning on seeing movies. Tomorrow, Teen Titans and Saturday, Blindspotting.

Rehire James Gunn!
A petition has been started to try and get Disney to Rehire James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy. Please link in and sign the petition. He has apologized. Our President has done a whole lot worse and evangelicals make up every excuse to protect him.

Finished Justice League
I got through the rest of the film. I did get better. Overall, I would say this is a copy of the Avengers: Infinity War. DC has got some work cut out for itself. Maybe one day, they will be able to compete with Marvel. It took Marvel time to build up its fan base. Work on the stand alone films and build up the quality.
Carrying a Bike
I got a new bike Saturday. Only problem is that I had no one to bring it home. I drive a small car. In addition to the bike I bought a carrier. It said it was easy to assemble. Angie can tell you that means nothing to me. It actually was not that hard to figure out. The instructions were too wordy and not easy to follow. I looked at the device and I figured out how it worked. No only that, I took all the straps and wrapped it around the bike. Driving home, the bike did not move, much.
Gardening Hell
I went out to the garden yesterday. The weeds were taking over. Also, it looks like a mole might be around. I got my gloves and went to work. It was so hot and humid out. I got through a lot of the weeds. I replanted an herb. When I did so, I did not notice that fire ants had taken over the area. I got bit on a knuckle and near my thumb. By that time, I was done. I sat on the couch to rest a second. Two hours later I got up.

Justice League
I started watching Justice League. It has the feel of a B version of Avengers Infinity War. It's like they knew it was coming, so they compiled this movie to beat their release. The CGI is very bad. The main villain looks like a video game character. Some of the early action has real choppy editing or just looks fake. Finally, the script. What's your super power? I'm rich. Surprised he did not ask what his meta power was. Sorry I did not warn you about this while it was in theaters.

Not a Retelling
Equalizer 2 was a great movie. It was not just a retelling of the first story. That stuff was more of a side story to the main story. It had action, humor, and drama. If you liked the first one, this one should satisfy you. If you did not see it, you can still see it. It is not dependent on the first one.
Tuesday, July 17, 2018
Equalizer 2
I just finished watching the first Equalizer. I loved it. I am really looking forward to seeing the second movie. Tonight, I get that chance. Stay tuned!

Mr. Rogers
I went to see the documentary about Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I found it very interesting. He is definitely lacking from TV today. Kids need his message. Our current one of hate and derision is not helping anyone. They even had a clip blaming Mr. Rogers for adults feeling entitled. I doubt they are talking about the rich. They are the ones with that problem. They are talking about the poor. Surprised Jesus taught so much hatred about the poor and infirm. Oh wait, that's not in the bible, it's in the Capital Bible with the Capitalist Jesus.

Generic Action Movie
I saw Skyscraper. It was good. I didn't feel like I wasted my time. If you really think about the plot, then you would come up with so many questions. The action was so so. Nothing really special. If I had paid for it, I would have been disappointed. My expectations were pretty low. I really wish Dwayne Johnson would get up with a great director and a great script. He's like the B version of Bruce Willis or Arnold.
Thursday, July 12, 2018
Skyscraper
Tonight is Skyscraper. I guess I will like this. I am setting my priorities pretty low for this movie. It looks like a cross between Die Hard and Inferno with a dash of San Andreas. I would say that it looks skewed towards the latter films, from what some of the people at last nights movie had to say about it. I say it's a popcorn movie. If your going in for a message or even a story, you miss why this was made. It was made to show off stunts and computer effects. The story is a small part of it. It probably took them many writers to come up with the story. It will show.
Sorry to Review This
Just playing on the title of the film. This movie will probably get rave reviews. It's a small social satire. It has things that the preview does not show. I enjoyed it. It's not for everyone, but it is something different during a summer of sequels and reboots/remakes. The acting was great. It should make you think about society and our role in it.

Sorry To Bother You
I'm at another sneak. I was debating whether I wanted to see this. I guess curiosity got the best of me. It has one of the actors from Get Out and Terry Crews.
Robocop Returns
I just read that Robocop is coming back. Neill Blomkamp, District 6, is attached to direct. It will be based on sequels that the original writers had come up with.

Star Wars News
Lando is coming back to Star Wars! Billy Dee Williams has signed on for the next installment. I can't wait to see how this one ends.

Vietnam: The Documentary
I am still watching the Vietnam documentary by Ken Burns. It is on Netflix. If you have not seen this, you need to. It gives much more insight into the war than school did. I also see where history seems to be repeating in our country. It seems that when Nixon won, he did so by using dirty tricks, just like Trump. Of course, Roger Stone is affiliated with both of them. I like the fact that the story is told from many angles, not just the American angle.
Busy Weekend
It has been a busy weekend for me. I went to a movie. I gave blood. I did yardwork. I tried to keep up my exercising. I think it is paying off, but food temptation is awful.
Ant Man
I saw Ant Man and Wasp on Saturday. It was great. It built upon the first movie. I felt it was a more complete film. I wanted more at the end of the first one. It had action, comedy, and drama. If you do go see this, stay until the very end. There are 2 post film scenes. One is at the very end of the credits. Before bed, last night, media outlets were already saying this was a bomb. I don't see how. It made more money than the first one did. Sometimes, I think there are groups that thrive on killing popular things. Believe me, it was more exciting and fun than the Man of Steel. I'm trying to rewatch it. It has been so boring. I'm surprised DC let him make Batman V Superman.

Ant Man and Wasp!
I will be checking this movie out tomorrow. I can't wait. I really liked the first one. This one looks just as fun. After The First Purge, I need a little fun.

Sleepy Movie
The first half of Ocean's Eight, I kept nodding off. It was not because of the movie. I was just tired. Luckily, I had to annoying movie goers to keep me awake. These two sounded like they were eating popcorn through a megaphone. One had a laugh like a evil character from a weird movie. The other one finished his popcorn and then started chewing ice.
Overall, the movie was good. It was just like the other Ocean's movies. If you liked them, this is a must see. The women did a great job. It really does not cover any new ground. Like I said, it is just like the other Ocean's movies.

Ocean's Eight
Better late, than never. I'm sitting in a recliner at a local theater. The chair is comfortable. I'll let you know about the movie.
Happy 4th!
I'm at work. No family to do things with. I figure I will do a little work and maybe go see Ocean's 8. I doubt I will be going to any firework shows. My neighborhood will take care of that. Someone on the block always has to light them off. When out dog was alive, it would scare the hell out of her. I hear there may be rain and it is hot.

The First Purge
I saw the First Purge last night. It was good. It starts slow, but picks up steam from there. If you like the series, it does not disappoint. I here that USA are doing a 10 episode series with The Purge. It should be good. I bet we will here Trump minions complain about this movie. As for him, I hope he does not see it and think that is a great idea. It's a movie that would play to his base. I heard one guy last night that it focused too much on the victims. I didn't understand that.

Dead Opossum
I went on my walk today. As I was walking, I saw a dead animal. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was an Opossum. Out of its pouch/stomach, there was a baby moving around. Across from it was a place that said Wildlife Management. I tried to walk in, but they had the doors locked. I sent them a message. I hope they help the critter. I looked for a Vet, but there are none that I know of.
The First Purge
I get to see The First Purge tonight. I have one concern though. I'm worried Trump might see this movie and think it's a message to him. His idiot republicans will jump wholeheartedly into it with him. The movie is structured in a way where right wing religious fanatics use killings to purge themselves of sin.
Sicario 2
I saw Sicario 2 on Saturday. I took a day to process it. I liked what I saw. I feel like there was something missing. That thing was the Cartels. You really don't see them and you don't see the war they were supposed to have started. Not only that, but you have a shoot out and it makes you wonder why did it happen. It leaves itself open for a #3, but I hope they tell a more balanced story. This one was kind of lopsided.

Blood Work
Sitting in the clinic to get blood done. I thought it would not be that busy. I was wrong. Hopefully I won't get sick. People keep sneezing and coughing. Plus, I have a movie at 11. Next time, I will set up an appointment.

Hot in Here
Florida is hot. This time of year feels like hell on earth. I'm surprised people want to come here on vacation. If you go to the parks, you are waiting in long lines in 100+ weather. I'd rather go somewhere cool. I will be in my nice, air conditioned office.

All The Money In the World
Just finished watching All The Money In the World. I can see why it was not a big hit. A bunch of rich people with rich people's problems. You really don't feel sorry for any of them. I think I felt more for one of the kidnappers than any one else. Getty reminds me a lot of Trump. He even had a charity so that he could make more money. Sounds like Trump. I think he'd do the same if one of his kids got kidnapped.

Sicario: Day of the Soldado
I've got my ticket for Sicario 2. I can't wait to see this movie. The first one was great. Now we get another chapter in this story. Stay tuned. I'll let you know what I thought about it. I also plan to see The First Purge and Ant Man and Wasp within the next week. Busy movie schedule.

The Fallen Kingdom: JW2
I went to see Jurassic this weekend. If you liked the first one, go see the second one. I'm a big fan of Chris Pratt's. He makes these movies fun. If you are looking for something other than Dinosaurs escaping and wreaking havoc, this it not the movie for you or critics. They have been savaging this movie. Why? Because it's the same formula that has been done. I would argue it is not, but I am not a critic. Be careful. The next art film to come out, that will take multiple viewings to understand, will get a 4 to 5 star review. People who follow critics will do their lemming thing and pay for that movie. If they make it through the movie, they will claim to like it because they don't want to admit they wasted $15 on a boring, hard to understand movie.

Fire and Ice
I made jelly yesterday. First time. This was a special jelly. It required cayenne peppers. I had to wear gloves to handle them. At first, it smelled interesting. Then, the heat hit my nose. On top of all that, I touched somewhere the peppers had been. I was not wearing a glove. My hand burned for the rest of the night. I think it turned out. I know it's solid. Now, I need a test subject.
Saturday, June 23, 2018
Jurassic World 2
Going to see Jurassic World today. Bringing my daughter and her friends. Found some free tickets. We liked the first one. The critics are tearing it apart. What can you do with a movie about dinosaurs escaping and terrorizing people. As long as it is entertaining.
Best Service
We went to Red Robin last night. We got the best service we have ever had. Our waitress told us about the special. She brought us refills without asking for them. It was a good dinner.

The Godfather of Martial Arts Films
I watched the Raid 2 again. If not have not seen the Raid movies, you are missing a very special series. Hopefully, it will be a trilogy, but the director is taking a break. I would say these movies are like the Godfather movies. 1 & 2 that is. It is well worth your time. I watched it with subtitles. I think if you find the DVD, it may be dubbed in English. The fighting in these movies is exceptional. I only hope the American remake does not tarnish the memory of these films.
Thursday, June 21, 2018
Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom
Going to see Jurassic World 2 this weekend. Already have tickets. I'm hoping for a good film. I really liked the first one. I like the director on this one. Check out The Orphanage, if you have not seen it. A Monster Calls was good, also.
Tuesday, June 19, 2018
Space Balls 2
It looks like Trump wants a Space military patrol. I bet it will look a lot like the movie Space Balls. He'll probably try to send the people crossing the border to a moon concentration camp. That will please his racist base.

Incredible Day
For Father's Day, my wife and daughter brought me to see the Incredibles 2. It was a great movie. The theater was packed. I would not be surprised if it was sold out. It is a must see movie. It continues where the first one left off.
In a Pickle
Yesterday, I used cucumbers from my garden to make pickles. I cut up a big bowl of cut cucumbers. When I looked at it and the vinegar, I wondered if I hand enough liquid. It was enough. After bathing the jars, I set them on the counter. I let them cool. Then, I had to check the lids. If I pushed and it popped back up, the process did not take. It was perfect. Today, I might do jam/jelly.

Incredible Weekend
Incredible's 2 comes out this weekend. I figure it's a great Father's Day movie for myself. My teenager disagrees. I'm trying to convince her it will be worth it. If you want a fun Pixar/Disney movie to go see, check it out. I believe it will be worth my time and money.

Bidding War
Disney was so close to getting some of Marvel's property back. Now, Comcast has offered 65 Billion to buy Fox. I hope Disney comes back with a better offer. I'd like to see the X-Men join the Avengers. I'd also like to see a good Fantastic Four.

Water Park
Yesterday was a great day. It was hot. There were lots of people. Some of them really need to cover up. I had a shirt on. I'm losing weight, so my stomach is not as obscene as it once was. Half of the people I saw are headed toward morbidly obese. I guess they either ignore their doctors or don't go see them. The main thing for me was having a fun day with my daughter's. The rest I tried to keep to myself.
Saturday, June 9, 2018
Water Day
Today, I'm taking the girls to a water park. The older girls. We are going open to close. We also have an all day eating pass. We'll have to use lots of suntan lotion. We are not using their parking lot. They are charging $20. They also say they are not responsible for your car. I feel that if I am paying that much to park, then they should be responsible.

Kelly Marie Tran
I thought Kelly Marie Tran was a great addition to Star Wars. I had hoped my daughters might see someone they could follow. One daughter does not want to see a talking bear and the other is just a teen. I read that she deleted her posts from Instagram. That is a real shame. She was so excited to share the adventure she was on with her fans. Now some idiots have harassed her into shutting down her posts. That is a real shame for the girls that follow and look up to her. Why? Because some jerks who probably still live with their parents at 40 don't like her in Star Wars? I wish she would go Jay and Silent Bob on them. If you don't know what I mean, see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I hope she comes back and ignores the traffic. In this day and age, you have to. Trump has given people a licence to be rude assholes.
Monday, June 4, 2018
Work Day
Sunday was a busy day. I worked in the garden and did other things. It was hot. I really don't see how people can be farmers. I took a test in High School that said I should be a farmer. I like growing things, but I would give up pretty easily. I'm surprised that I have lasted this long. I have some herbs and cucumbers to show for it. I actually made pickles yesterday. Today, I get to see if they came out.

Summer is Back with a Vengeance
This morning, we brought the girls to an event for children with special needs. It was a hot day. They had plenty of water to keep people hydrated. By the end, the heat had taken its toll. Everyone was sweaty and touchy.

Go Solo this Weekend!
Go see Solo this week end. It's a fun summer movie. Now that summer has officially started, it's time to see a great popcorn movie. I want more Solo movies. If it does not make more money, we may not see more of them. Give Disney a reason to do another.
Rick and Morty
I started watching Rick and Morty. I would describe it as South Park for the Big Bang Theory audience. There is lots of language, so don't let your kids watch it. It is funny and different.

Sad Movie Week
Summer movie season is here. It is a time for really big movies to come out. What do we get this weekend, Action Point. It looks like Jackass meets Meatballs. Jackass movies were fun, but when they are set to a fictional storyline. . .I will not be rushing out to see this one. Stick with Solo, Deadpool 2 or the Avengers.
Talking Bear
I went to see Solo the other day. I asked one of my daughters if she wanted to see it. She replied "I am not going to see a movie with a talking bear in it!"
Just a Little Rain
At lunch, I decided to go for a walk. It was drizzling, but nothing much. I did bring my umbrella. I live in Florida. Showers can happen at any time. Halfway into the walk, that proved to be a true statement. The drizzle turned to rain. Then, it got harder. By the end, I was soaked. My shoes were soaked. Luckily, I had a spare set in my office. My socks were wet. No spares. In the future, I am going to store a set of socks, pants, and shirt in my office. I already have dry shoes.

On Again, Off Again
I guess Trump is trying to turn talks into one of his reality shows. We'll have to wait to the last minute to see if it will happen. I'm sure his faithful, mindless followers will hope it ends in You're Fired! with a missile launched at NK. I'm hoping for a peaceful resolution. There are real people over there that will die. It will not just be NK. If we do something, SK, China and Japan could get hit. Then there is NK's missile. They say it can go as far as the US. Do we really want to call that bluff?

Solo: A Movie Made for the Summer
My daughter and I saw Solo today. It was a great movie. There are some great performances. Even the guy who places Solo. I did not sit their and think it was an actor trying to impersonate Ford. Glover is spot on as Lando. This movie is worth your time. Don't pay attention to the Box Office. I don't know why they fight over Memorial day weekend. Most people travel. It's the start of summer. It's also a time of remembrance.

Altercation at the Theater
During the movie, there was a verbal altercation. I guess one person bumped another. She says loudly "I said excuse me!" Then, that was followed by cussing and patrons running out into the lobby. The people next to me were wondering if they should leave before shots were fired. Nothing else happened.
Deadpool 2
I finally went to see Deadpool 2. It was a great movie. It continued the jokes and great action. Stay through the credits or at least midway. It is a must see for adult fans. I don't see why people bring young children to movies like this. They don't care, even when the child starts acting up.

Running out of Ideas
Hollywood has a film called Tag coming out. Are they running out of ideas? What's next Pet Rock? Maybe they could do a Rock, Paper, Scissor movie. I really wish they would stop making movies after games. Most of the time, they are lame. Jumanji is a rare exception. Maybe Tag will make a lot of money and they can do a Hide and Go Seek Movie.

Rain Out
Memorial Day is coming. This is usually a time of cook outs and remembrance of those who served in the military. My Grandfather was in WW2, my father was in the Navy for a time, I have an aunt who served and I believe an uncle who served. As for cook outs, it will not be happening in Florida. It looks like our storms are starting early this year. We have a tropical storm heading our way. It looks like a wet weekend. Off to the movies we will go. Deadpool 2 and Solo is on our list. There are other movies out there. Plus, the theaters are air conditioned.

The Predator
This week they released the trailer for The Predator. I can not wait to see this one. I remember going to the first movie. I was a teen. I had to sneak into the movie. I bought a ticket for a PG film and then just walked into Predator. I knew this was going to be a special movie. The director had done Die Hard. Teaming with Schwarzenegger was going to be a good action movie.

Deadpool 2
Friday, Deadpool 2 comes out. I can't wait to see this one. The first one was a fun adult movie. The second one looks like it will carry on that tradition. Go out and see it.
Rainy Season
We have a week of rain predicted. I hope this means our rainy season has begun. My garden is doing well and this will cut back on watering. Our grass really needs the moisture. It's funny to go out with all this rain and see people watering their lawns. Florida should really crack down on people that over water their lawns. I don't care what home owner associations have to say about it. They are part of the problem.

Gardening in the Summer
Spent the morning pulling weeds. It was stuffy and hot. I added a sun screen to help with the sun. At noon, the sun beats down on the plants. So far, it seems to be working. I even went to get more. I am adding Stevia. I will have to see what I can do with it. The herbs are going crazy. I'm going to dry some out.

Bill and Ted Return
Bill and Ted are coming back. No they are not rebooting the series. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are going to star as older versions of the teenage time travelers. It will be interesting to see how it comes out. I grew up on these movies.

Viewing Order
If you plan to go see the Avengers, make sure to watch Thor: Ragnorak first. One goes into the other. I will say, the Avengers was awesome. I liked the pacing, the storyline, and the villain. There are surprises in the movie, of which I will not speak. I can't wait for the next installment that comes out in May of 2019.

Avengers
My family saw the movie Sunday. Today, is my chance. AMC has a special 5.00 deal. Don't know if I will say much. I don't want to give away anything.

Thor Review
If you have not seen this movie, go find it. It has action and comedy. It is an improvement over the last movie. The director is amazing. Taiki Watiti even plays Korg in the movie. If you like the humor, you need to find his other movies, like Things We Do in the Dark and Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

Thor
I finally get to see it this weekend. I know, I am behind. It's hard to see everything with small children in the house. I can't take them with me.
May the Fourth be With You!
It's that special time of the year. Time to celebrate Star Wars. I'm surprised they did not release Solo today. I know it is too close to Avengers. Wear your Star Wars apparel and celebrate.

You're invited to join Shopkick
I've been using the Shopkick app and love it - you will too We'll both get points toward a free gift card when you try it. Use code SHOP071812 or download https://getsk.co/shop071812
I have already secured 2 $25 gift cards for Amazon. It is worth your time. I have bought very little. I stick to the scanning. I actually ran into a woman at Best Buy doing the same thing. Try it out. It has many companies to choose from.

Infinity Wars
I finally get to see this movie, I hope. My daughter wants to go on Sunday. Fine with me. I just hope it is with my wife. So far, I have only heard one spoiler. Don't worry, I will not tell you any once I do see the movie. I would say, if you plan to see, see it in IMAX. They filmed it using special cameras developed by IMAX. This is the first time being used.

ABBA is Back!
My 9 year old is a huge fan. She can name songs, I've never heard of. She had an ABBA theme. Now, they have announced they are reuniting and have new music. She is going to love it.

Venom Trailer
When I was younger, I went through a comic book phase. Venom was a spin off from Spiderman. Technically, he is a villain. They turned him into an anti-hero. Tom Hardy pays the main character. Check it out.

Birthday Party
My daughter had a party this weekend. She had to have an ABBA theme. Mom did a great job setting it up. Believe me, it's hard to find ABBA party things. My daughter had a great party. Yes, the music was ABBA.

Happy Death Day!
Have you seen this movie? I finally did. It's a good movie. It's like Groundhog's Day with a murder twist. I thought it was a well done movie. If you want to be entertained and play a who dunnit, check out this movie.

Charcoal Ice Cream?
Yes, you did read this correctly. A shop in Orlando has an ice cream with activated charcoal in it. It is black. You can also buy the matching cone. I have not tried it, but it has my interest.
The Raid
Trump says the raid on his fixer is a raid on our values. Since when have criminal values been American Values? Here is a guy that admits paying hush money to a porn star for Trump. Then, they threaten her to keep her quiet. Gee, I wonder what tipped off the FBI?

Accident on 4
I had to take the back roads today. There is an accident on 4. It happened at 2 am. I'm guessing someone died. There are fewer people at work, so far. I don't know if that is because of the accident or Easter weekend. Hoping for a slow and quiet day.

Summer Movie Season is Revving Up!
Spielberg has another huge movie coming out this week. Ready Player One is based on another popular book. It is a nostalgic trip through past movies and games. Who better to direct this than the man who created some of it! I read the book. It was very good. It's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with video games. If you are bored, go check it out. One month until Avengers: Infinity War.

Party On!
Yesterday was a busy day. I had 2 parties to attend. One was for my daughter's and I had to take another to a party. It was a first for her. Not only that. She got to bowl for the first time. She got a strike. Pretty good for a seeing impaired child.

Now with Fresh Beef!
If you owned a burger stand, would you sell your burgers with Now with Fresh Beef? That is what McDonald's is doing. The question that comes to my mind is what was in it before? What is in the other burgers?

Snowy Day!
Woke this morning to snow. Been a couple of years since I last saw snow. I walked to some nearby stores. It was a refreshing walk. I also was able to earn Shopkick points. I managed not to buy clearance items. It was hard.

Coco is Amazing!
If you have not seen Coco, you need to. It is amazing. The visuals will knock your socks off. The story is a good one about not forgetting people in your past.

Tomb Raider
Another video game reboot. When is Hollywood going to learn? I like the actors in it, but it's based on a video game. I'm guessing it will make some money but die off quickly.

Dancing Queen
I went out with my daughters the other day. We went to Sam's to get soap and samples for lunch. I asked my older daughter to get the younger one a sample. She started whining. (My younger daughter is a huge ABBA fan. She listens to them all the time) I said stop being a Drama Queen. My younger daughter goes "not Drama Queen, she's being a Dancing Queen!"

Red Sparrow Starts Today
I read the book. I liked it. The author says they did not take too much away from his story. I would say go see it. If you can not, check out the book. It's a really good and timely tale. I'm surprised republicans have not attacked it. I know it does not go after Trump, but it shows how a rube like Trump could be set up. Forrest Trump would be their easiest asset to turn. He is a Manchurian Candidate!

Go See Black Panther!
I finally got to see this movie. It is amazing. It's not just a male action movie. The females steal the show. The action was well choreographed. The secondary characters are more than just there to pass the time. I can't wait for more Black Panther movies! He'll be in the next Avengers movie. They say that this may eclipse the box office of The Avengers. I hope so. They did an excellent job with this movie.

Just Dance Korean
I like Korean music. I turned on YouTube last night. I searched for Just Dance K-Pop. Sure enough, they have videos. If you bought the Wii game, it would only work in the market it was created for and that is not America. I danced through a bunch of them and worked up a sweat.

Few Movies Getting Released
When you look at the box office, there is really nothing out there. You have the stupid Fifty Shades and they balanced that out with a stupid talking animal take on Peter Rabbit. I guess they thought the moms that like the one need the other for their kids. Nothing high brow here. Thank God my children have grown out of the talking animal movies. Although it looks more realistic than the 90's, it usually follows a paint by number script with fart and poop jokes thrown in. If you have a lazy kids movie, you have to spice it up with farts and poop. At least we have Black Panther next week. It's almost like the theater is a desert and there are tons of mirages out there, but only a few good and real watering holes.

Falcon Heavy
I was leaving work last night, well, late afternoon. I timed it with the rocket launch. I stood there looking into the sky. Until one goes up, you really do not know where to look. I had the general direction. A coworker came out and she asked what was that. I moved a little and it was the rocket. A tree was sort of blocking the view. Really, all you could see was the flame from the rocket. Soon, we'll get to see a whole lot more of these. Not only is Space X launching, but we have Blue Origins also preparing a heavy rocket.

Cloverfield Paradox
I watched the Cloverfield Paradox last night. I liked it. I had been reading bad reviews all day about it. Sometimes, I think people just over analyze movies. My favorites are when they are critical on Science Fiction. They'll point something out as inaccurate, like in Star Wars. It's a movie in a make believe world. In that world, they can create whatever they want. Movies tend to be that way. It was better than Life. Life, to me, felt like an Alien rip off. It adds another chapter in the Cloverfield series. It may even give some explanation to what is going on.

Super Bowl
I was not going to watch it, but my daughters wanted to watch it. I sat down with them. They made it entertaining. They do not really follow football. I tried to explain it to them. One just kept making up terms. Field Goad = Kicky Thingy. I crashed after the halftime show. Glad the underdog won.

Red Sparrow
I started reading this book. I really enjoy it. It is a modern spy thriller. It even may be a little prophetic. It is a trilogy of books. The final book is coming out soon. It is called The Kremlin's Candidate. The series started before Trump. It is written by Jason Matthews. The movie is coming out soon, but give the book a read.

Discovering Quinoa
About a week or so ago, I had a class at work. In the lunch I ate was a quinoa salad. I had never ate quinoa before. I loved it. I tried writing the restaurant about the recipe, but they ignored it. So I looked online. I found many recipes. I searched for the ingredients. I thought it would be a hard search. So, I went to Whole Foods. They are known for carrying healthy foods. Later, I discovered every store, even Aldi, carries it. If you ever get a chance to eat it, do so. Fixing it is simple. It is like fixing regular rice. One cup quinoa to two cups water. Bring to a boil, then turn down low until the water has been absorbed.

Netflix is Unleashing a Wave
Everyday, I see a new preview for a movie or show that Netflix is releasing. I'm looking forward to it. While studios have cut output, Netflix is stepping up. They should think about releasing some of these movies at the theaters. We all know they need some product. What I see coming out is weak, minus a film or two. The retreads are killing me. It seems that Hallmark films and religious films are taking over. I can't stand either. If I want to be preached to, I'll go to church.

Academy Awards Nominations
The Dreadful award season is coming to an end. We have to sit through the really big ones. I'm sure the list will suck. It will be white washed as usual. Some early nods have disappeared. Why? Because their movies did not make lots of money. I will not be tuning in. I lost interest a long time ago.

Morning Exercises
This morning, my daughter and I sweated through Just Dance. I think we did pretty good. I wanted to end early, but my daughter kept pushing me. I think we lasted an hour. We were both sweating.

Fewer Films
If you like going to the movies, your options are going to shrink. With Disney taking over Fox, I read that they want to shrink the amount of movies released. It said they really want to focus on tentpole movies. This could be a big opportunity for Netflix and Amazon. They are doing those smaller movies that the studios do not care to take a risk on. They could make a deal with theaters to play before they stream. Theaters need product. I wish Netflix would take them up on an offer. That would help pay down their debt.

My 600 Pound Life
I started watching this show on TLC recently. I'll tell you, if you are overweight like I am, this show is motivational. I'm no where near what these people are. When you watch, you see what lack of exercise and a diet of fast food can do to a person. One guy would eat whole large pizzas. I don't want to end up like that. It makes me think before I grab something bad to eat.

Hong Chau is an Amazing Actress
I first saw Hong Chau in Inherent Vice. She only had a small role, but she really stood out for me. Then, I saw her in Treme. She was great in that. Now, she is in Downsizing. I have not seen this, but I want to. People are praising her for her role as a Vietnamese activist. There are also people attacking her for stereotyping. I can see where this can happen in Hollywood. It does not look like that. What are people of color to do to make it in Hollywood? Their roles are awfully limited. They make the best of the roles they get. Hong Chau is very talented. I'd love to see more of her in films. I'd love to see more Asian actors in film and television. I hope during this award season, Hong Chau gets some recognition. I hope the this will lead to more roles.
Top Secret Launch
We have a top secret launch tonight. If it is being advertised and everyone knows about it, is it still top secret? I guess the secret is the payload it is covering. I think the news should say we are having a launch with a top secret payload.

Marvel Live!
I was at an appointment with my wife, when I started reading the local paper. They had a contest for Marvel Live tickets. I knew my eldest would love to see this. I figured what harm could come from entering it. Angie was preoccupied. I entered under her information. Two nights ago, she got a call. She seemed excited. When she got off the phone, she told me she had won tickets to Marvel Live. She did not even know she had entered. Luckily, she did not tell them that. I told her that I had entered her and did not think about telling her. My eldest was really excited about it. We won 6 tickets. Most will be able to go.

The Last Jedi Meaning
I read an interesting article about The Last Jedi. The compare it to a class struggle. The greedy rich versus the downtrodden poor. I can see that. It makes for a better storyline than one in which only certain people of a certain bloodline can lead a resistance. Just think about the election, where Clinton was chosen to be that person. She had flaws. Yes, they were highlighted by the GOP and Russians. But those flaws existed. If she really wanted to be president after Obama, she should have dotted every i and crossed every t. She did not. The DNC could have picked a better candidate. Now, we have an evil emperor, like Star Wars. Trump is just like that. As time goes by, he grows stronger and is emboldened by everyday he remains. He does not even try to hide the crimes anymore. He just tells everyone that he can do it. Getting back to the movie, go see it. Look for the meaning of class struggle. I think they had great messages. You can come from nothing and become a person people look up to.

Drone Mishap
I got a drone for Christmas. I finally got around to charging the battery. Like all great men of the past and future, I decided to fore go the instructions and wing it. I went into our eating area to start the process. In our eating area are two ceiling fans. It's Florida, so they are always on. I plugged in the battery for the drone. Then, it was time for the remote. I plugged in the batteries. I turned it in and nothing. I'm pressing buttons. Next thing I know, it comes to life and like Frankenstein's monster, it rises. Only it rose faster than I expected. I guess it would have been a great sitcom moment. The drone flies into the blades of the fans. I could imagine a pinball moment between the two fans. My wife would have killed me. Instead, I did a brave and stupid thing. I swatted it down. Let me tell you, those drone blades hurt. I quickly switched the control to off. It stopped.
